Autosomal dominant familial neurohypophyseal diabetes insipidus caused by a mutation in the arginine-vasopressin II gene in four generations of a Korean family [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2014
Autosomal dominant neurohypophyseal diabetes insipidus is a rare form of central diabetes insipidus that is caused by mutations in the vasopressin-neurophysin II (AVP-NPII) gene.

Congestive heart failure in rats is associated with increased expression and targeting of aquaporin-2 water channel in collecting duct [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We tested whether severe congestive heart failure (CHF), a condition associated with excess free-water retention, is accompanied by altered regulation of the vasopressin-regulated water channel, aquaporin-2 (AQP2), in the renal collecting duct.

Maternal glucocorticoids have persistent effects on offspring social phenotype irrespective of opportunity for social buffering

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
This study tests whether early‐life maternal association buffers offspring from the effects of prenatal stress in a facultatively social lizard. Despite clear effects of maternal glucocorticoids on growth and social behaviour, social associations did not mitigate these effects, revealing limits to social buffering in this species.

Adipsic central diabetes insipidus as a result of neurosarcoidosis

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de Endocrinología, Metabolismo y Nutrición
Sarcoidosis is a systemic multisystem inflammatory disorder of unknown etiology characterized by the presence of non-caseating granulomas. Neurosarcoidosis leads to hypothalamus- pituitary axis dysfunction, and the most common clinical manifestation is ...

Estimation the activity of Copeptin, insulin, and C-peptide from patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2018
Copeptin, the C-terminal part of the vasopressin prohormone, is secreted stoichiometrically with vasopressin that is more easily measured than Arginine vasopressin.

The inositol Inpp5k 5-phosphatase affects osmoregulation through the vasopressin-aquaporin 2 pathway in the collecting system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Inositol Inpp5k (or Pps, SKIP) is a member of the inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatases family with a poorly characterized function in vivo. In this study, we explored the function of this inositol 5-phosphatase in mice and cells overexpressing the 42 ...

Compartmentalisation in cAMP signalling: A phase separation perspective

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Cells rely on precise spatiotemporal control of signalling pathways to ensure functional specificity. The compartmentalisation of cyclic AMP (cAMP) and protein kinase A (PKA) signalling enables distinct cellular responses within a crowded cytoplasmic space.

Testosterone Acts Within the Medial Amygdala of Rats to Reduce Innate Fear to Predator Odor Akin to the Effects of Toxoplasma gondii Infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2020
Rats infected with the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii exhibit a reduced aversion to cat odor. This behavioral change is thought to increase trophic transmission of the parasite. Infected male rats also show a greater testicular synthesis of testosterone and
