Iterative Exponential Growth of Oxygen-Linked Aromatic Polymers Driven by Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution Reactions

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2021
This work presents the first transition metal-free synthesis of oxygen-linked aromatic polymers by integrating iterative exponential polymer growth (IEG) with nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reactions.

From porphyrin benzylphosphoramidate conjugates to the catalytic hydrogenation of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
Three new porphyrin aminoalkyl dibenzylphosphoramidates were synthesized by nucleophilic aromatic substitution of one p-fluorine atom of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin (TPPF20) by primary aminoalkyl dibenzylphosphoramidates.

Dehalogenation of Aromatics by Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution

open access: yes, 2016
Nucleophilic aromatic substitution has been implicated as a mechanism for both the biotic and abiotic hydrodehalogenation of aromatics. Two mechanisms for the aqueous dehalogenation of aromatics involving nucleophilic aromatic substitution with hydride ...

Crystal structure of 4-(4-methoxyphenoxy)benzaldehyde

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
The title compound, C14H12O3, was synthesized via the nucleophilic addition of 4-methoxyphenol to 4-fluorobenzaldehyde. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the benzene rings is 71.52 (3)° and the C—O—C angle at the central O atom is ...

Three-Component Condensation of β-Ketonitriles, 4-Fluorobenzaldehyde, and Secondary Cyclic Amines

open access: yesReactions, 2022
A new three-component condensation of β-ketonitriles, 4-fluorobenzaldehyde, and secondary cyclic amines was developed. A possible reaction mechanism has been proposed including Knoevenagel condensation followed by aromatic nucleophilic substitution.

Synthesis of N1-(3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)benzene-1,2-diamine and N,N-Bis(2-nitrophenyl)-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline

open access: yesMolbank, 2023
A monosubstituted benzene-1,2-diamine building block, N1-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)benzene-1,2-diamine, was prepared in two steps from commercially available 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzylamine and 1-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene, while the use of 3,5-bis ...

Specific nucleophile–electrophile interactions in nucleophilic aromatic substitutions

open access: yesOrganic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2013
We herein report results obtained from an integrated experimental and theoretical study on aromatic nucleophilic substitution (S(N)Ar) reactions of a series of amines towards 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene in water. Specific nucleophile-electrophile interactions in the title reactions have been kinetically evaluated.

Nucleophilic substitution reactions of some polyhalogenated compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Rate measurements for the reactions of a series of polyfluoro - and polychloro - pyridines with aniline and ammonia in 60/40 dioxan/water at 25ºC has shown that chlorine, when ortho and para to the position of attack, is activating with respect to ...

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...
