This study proposes a potential device design for joint cartilage replacement. Silica‐polytetrahydrofuran (SiO2‐PolyTHF) hybrids with customizable mechanical properties were developed to mimic the characteristics of a natural meniscus. These were synthesized through a two‐pot sol–gel hybrid process.

Elastic–Plastic Modeling and Experimental Characterization of Granular Jamming Actuators
Granular jamming enables rapid switching between soft and rigid mechanical states. Here, a reduced‐order elastic‐perfectly‐plastic beam framework captures pressure‐dependent loading, unloading, residual deformation, and hysteresis in jammed beams, while matching three‐point bending experiments across materials and geometries. The framework links design

Electrodeposition in Structural Lattices of Variable Architectures
Electrodeposition enables geometry‐sensitive, autonomous void filling while simultaneously tuning chemical and mechanical properties. The development of approaches that can autonomously fill and heal material voids and yield composites with tailorable properties is increasingly relevant in engineering.

Dendritic Cells for SYN Scan Detection [PDF]
Artificial immune systems have previously been applied to the problem of intrusion detection. The aim of this research is to develop an intrusion detection system based on the function of Dendritic Cells (DCs). DCs are antigen presenting cells and key to

Impact of Hydrogen Incorporation on Electronic and Magnetic Structure of X2CrNi18‐9 Stainless Steel
Hydrogen uptake in austenitic stainless steel alters both its electronic and magnetic structure. Seebeck measurements reveal hydrogen‐induced shifts in the electronic density of states, while neutron scattering uncovers nanoscale inhomogeneities that grow upon hydrogen incorporation, with the most pronounced effect observed in the PBF as‐built state ...

Exploring Topological Properties in Artificial Neural Networks
Biological neural systems often represent information on low-dimensional manifolds that reflect the topology of their encoded variables. This suggests that neural activity can be naturally organized in geometrically meaningful ways, as seen in rodent ...

Microstructural evolution of premium rail steel during flash butt welding (FBW), comparing physically simulated heat‐affected zones with actual weld regions. Thermal cycles induce phase transformations and microstructural heterogeneity that influence weld quality and mechanical performance. These findings provide insights into optimizing FBW parameters
