LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

This study investigates the potential improvement of polyhemoglobin’s protective properties by the addition of 3 synthetic enzymes (neo-carbonic anhydrase, neo-catalase and neo-superoxide dismutase) to polyhemoglobin after 90 and 180 min of warm in-vitro

Background: The lack of a stable source of hepatocytes is one of major limitations in hepatocyte transplantation and clinical applications of a bioartificial liver. Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) with a high degree of self-renewal and totipotency are

Epigenetic Tracking: Implementation Details [PDF]
"Epigenetic Tracking" is the name of a model of cellular development that, coupled with an evolutionary technique, becomes an evo-devo (or "artificial embryology", or "computational development") method to generate 2d or 3d sets of artificial cells ...

A functioning artificial secretory cell [PDF]
We present an amperometric study of content release from individual vesicles in an artificial secretory cell designed with the minimal components required to carry out exocytosis. Here, the membranes of the cell and vesicles are substituted for protein-free giant and large unilamellar vesicles respectively. In replacement of the SNARE-complex, the cell

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

External loading determines specific ECM genes regulation [PDF]
Bio artificial matrices embedded with cells are simulated in bioreactors to facilitate ECM production. As cells attach, they develop forces, which are dependent on cell type and matrix stiffness.
