Modern Synthetic Methods for Copper‐Mediated C(aryl) ? O, C(aryl) ? N, and C(aryl) ? S Bond Formation

open access: yes, 2003
The copper-mediated C(aryl)N, C(aryl)O, and C(aryl)S bond formation is an important transformation and has been developed to include a wide range of substrates.

Oxygen Defect Engineering of Hexagonal Perovskite Oxides to Boost Catalytic Performance for Aerobic Oxidation of Sulfides to Sulfones

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ru‐substituted hexagonal perovskite SrMnO3, featuring face‐shared oxygen species, is designed as an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the aerobic oxidation of sulfides. The catalyst demonstrates high selectivity to sulfones (>99%) under mild reaction conditions (≥30 °C). Ru substitution promotes oxygen vacancy formation of face‐shared oxygen species

Regioselective Reactions of Highly Substituted Arynes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The fully regioselective reactivity of four new highly substituted silyl aryl triflate aryne precursors in aryne acyl-alkylation, acyl-alkylation/condensation, and heteroannulation reactions is reported.

Spectroelectrochemical Determination of Förster Radii for Triplet‐Polaron Quenching in Phosphorescent Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phosphorescent OLEDs suffer from efficiency roll‐off due to triplet‐polaron quenching (TPQ). This study demonstrates for a large set of host‐guest combinations a spectroelectrochemical method to measure the absorption of charged molecules, enabling determining TPQ Förster radii (2.5–4 nm) from the spectral overlap.

Catalysis of a Bis-Caffeine Palladium(II) NHC-Pincer Complex

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
A tridentate bis-NHC Pd complex, based on caffeine, was studied for its catalytic activity. This complex displayed a high catalytic activity in the Suzuki–Miyaura and Mizoroki–Heck cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides.

Intra- and Intermolecular C−H Activation by Bis(phenolate)pyridineiridium(III) Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A bis(phenolate)pyridine pincer ligand (henceforth abbreviated as ONO) has been employed to support a variety of iridium complexes in oxidation states I, III, and IV.

Fast Neutron Detector Based on Hybrid 2D Perovskite Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the direct detection of fast neutrons using flexible hybrid 2D perovskite (PEA2PbBr4) thin‐film detectors. Thanks to their high low‐Z elements content and good charge transport, these materials enable efficient neutron detection. The thin film configuration allowed the operation at low voltage, and offer scalability, flexibility, and

Tailoring on-surface molecular reactions and assembly through hydrogen-modified synthesis: From triarylamine monomer to 2D covalent organic framework [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Relative to conventional wet-chemical synthesis techniques, on-surface synthesis of organic networks in ultrahigh vacuum has few control parameters. The molecular deposition rate and substrate temperature are typically the only synthesis variables to be adjusted dynamically.

A New Alkylation of Aryl Alcohols by Boron Trifluoride Etherate

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
The ethylation of aryl alcohols by an ethyl moiety of boron trifluoride etherate is described. The reaction proceeded cleanly and afforded good yields of the corresponding aryl ethyl ethers.

Enhancing the cellular uptake of Py–Im polyamides through next-generation aryl turns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Pyrrole–imidazole (Py–Im) hairpin polyamides are a class of programmable, sequence-specific DNA binding oligomers capable of disrupting protein–DNA interactions and modulating gene expression in living cells.
