The Regulatory Role of Iron Transporter SLC39A13 in Liver Fibrosis
SLC39A13/ZIP13, a newly discovered intracellular iron transporter, delivers iron to the ER/Golgi to catalyze procollagen hydroxylation during collagen maturation. Here, we systematically characterize the cell type‐specific functions of ZIP13 across distinct hepatic cell populations, and identify hepatic stellate cell‐specific ZIP13 as a promising and ...

Nitric Oxide Ameliorates Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Phytotoxicity in Wheat Seedlings: Implication of the Ascorbate-Glutathione Cycle. [PDF]
The present study investigates ameliorative effects of nitric oxide (NO) against zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) phytotoxicity in wheat seedlings. ZnONPs exposure hampered growth of wheat seedlings, which coincided with reduced photosynthetic efficiency (Fv/Fm and qP), due to increased accumulation of zinc (Zn) in xylem and phloem saps.

Metarhizium anisopliae alleviates the phytotoxic effects of polyethylene nanoplastics (NP) and lead (Pb) in rice by decreasing Pb uptake, restoring antioxidant and hormonal equilibrium, and promoting growth. Additionally, the fungus modifies the rhizosphere microbiota, enhancing both contaminant tolerance and plant growth, thereby effectively ...

Reduction of a-tocopherylquinone Model Compound With Various Reductant [PDF]
In order to study the possibility of tranformation of a-tocopherylquinone (TQ) into a more oxidiseable compound and also to find out the recycling effect in the cells, an experiment was conducted by reducing the model compound 2-(3- hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)

Aldo-keto reductase-1 (AKR1) protect cellular enzymes from salt stress by detoxifying reactive cytotoxic compounds [PDF]
Cytotoxic compounds like reactive carbonyl compounds such as methylglyoxal (MG), melandialdehyde (MDA), besides the ROS accumulate significantly at higher levels under salinity stress conditions and affect lipids and proteins that inhibit plant growth ...
