Safety of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccination in paediatric patients with a PEG-asparaginase allergy

open access: yesEJC Paediatric Oncology, 2023
Background: Children treated for a malignancy are at risk to develop serious illness from a COVID-19 infection. Pegylated E. coli asparaginase (PEG-asparaginase) is used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Allergy to this drug is common and

Filamentous Fungi Producing l-Asparaginase with Low Glutaminase Activity Isolated from Brazilian Savanna Soil

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2021
l-asparaginase is an enzyme used as treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) due to its ability to hydrolyze l-asparagine, an essential amino acid synthesized by normal cells unlike neoplastic cells.

Skrining Bakteri Termohalofilik Penghasil L-asparaginase dari Sumber Air Panas Wawolesea Sulawesi Tenggara dan Uji Aktivitas Enzimnya

open access: yesAlchemy

The nutritional and cultural conditions in shake flask culture for improved production of L-Asparaginase from endophytic fungus Fusarium sp. LCJ324: A sequential statistical method

open access: yesItalian Journal of Mycology, 2023
L-Asparaginase has a greater demand due to its potential application in the food industry as well as in the pharmaceutical industry. To meet this demand, optimization of nutritional as well as physical conditions is critical for scaling up the production

E. coli-Derived L-Asparaginase Retains Enzymatic and Cytotoxic Activity In Vitro for Canine and Feline Lymphoma after Cold Storage

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International, 2013
Background. L-asparaginase is effective in treating canine and feline lymphoma, however chemotherapy poses a significant financial cost to veterinary clients, limiting therapy for many pets.

ETV4 Promotes Colorectal Cancer Progression by Reprogramming Asparagine Metabolism to Remodel the Stromal Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ETV4 coordinates a dual transcriptional program by upregulating MET and asparagine synthetase (ASNS). The resulting asparagine (Asn) secretion acts as a metabolic signal, reprogramming hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and primary cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) toward an inflammatory phenotype. These activated stromal cells release HGF to sustain the

Systematic Metabolic Engineering and Model‐Guided Optimization for High‐Level Production of L‐Theanine from Xylose in Escherichia coli

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study is pioneering in constructing the shortest known synthetic pathway for L‐theanine production from xylose within E coli. Through comprehensive metabolic engineering strategies, our engineered strain achieved the highest reported L‐theanine titer from xylose, with a titer of 95.42 g/L, and a yield of 0.55 g/g.

Effect of developmental changes on pharmacokinetics of drugs used in the treatment of infant acute lymphoblastic leukaemia—A comprehensive review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
While the event‐free survival (EFS) of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) has improved greatly in the last decades, the EFS for patients diagnosed with ALL before the age of one is still under 50%. This outcome further decreases when infants have a rearrangement in the gene encoding histone‐lysine N‐methyltransferase 2A (KMT2A ...
