First molecular report of causative agent of otomycosis due to Aspergillus luchuensis

Journal of Wound Care, 2021
Otomycosis is a fungal infection of the external auditory canal caused mainly by the genus Aspergillus. Aspergillus luchuensis, an industrially important fungus, is a member of Aspergillus section Nigri. In this report, we present a case of otomycosis due to Aspergillus luchuensis in a 43-year-old female patient.

Simultaneous detection of Aspergillus nidulans, Aspergillus luchuensis and Lichtheimia sp. in a bovine abortion

Journal de Mycologie Médicale, 2020
Abortion in dairy cattle may be caused by infectious (viruses, fungi and protozoa) and non-infectious causes mostly related to bad management practices and genetic factors. Recently, the significant contribution of mycotic infection to bovine abortion has been recognized.

Expression of heterochromatin protein 1 affects citric acid production in Aspergillus luchuensis mut. kawachii

Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2023
A putative methyltransferase, LaeA, controls citric acid production through epigenetic regulation of the citrate exporter gene, cexA, in the white koji fungus Aspergillus luchuensis mut. kawachii. In this study, we investigated the role of another epigenetic regulator, heterochromatin protein 1, HepA, in citric acid production.

Identification and characterization of thermostable endo‐polygalacturonase II B from Aspergillus luchuensis

Journal of Food Biochemistry, 2020
Endo-polygalacturonase II B (PgaB) from Aspergillus luchuensis was orthologous to endo-polygalacturonase from Aspergillus niger with mutant sites Thr42Ser and Glu52Ala. Mature pgaB gene was cloned from the genomic DNA of A. luchuensis and secreted expressed with over 90% purity in Pichia Pastoris and reached 1.0 g/L after 144 hr culture.
