A Reaction‐Diffusion Frame for Accessing Metabolic O2 Fluxes in Single Microalgal Cells with Low‐Cost Wide‐Field Imaging of Nanosensor Luminescence Lifetime

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Individual Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (C. reinhardtii) living cells on an agarose pad containing luminescent O2 nanosensors are imaged with a simple wide‐field protocol of lifetime imaging. The resulting maps of phosphorescence lifetime are analyzed within a reaction‐diffusion frame to access the distribution of metabolic O2 fluxes generated by single ...

Integrated Metabolic and Inflammatory Clustering Reveals Distinct Risk Profiles for Digestive Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study analyzes 398 432 participants, identifying four distinct metabolic‐inflammatory subtypes. These subtypes show a significant association with digestive disease risk. Cluster‐associated metabolite signatures partially explain this link. Machine learning models using these metabolites accurately predict risk for ten digestive diseases. Key risk

Temperature Thresholds Govern Microbial‐Mediated Dissolved Organic Carbon Dynamics in Coastal Ecosystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coastal dissolved organic carbon (DOC) represents one of the largest reduced carbon pools on Earth, and they are influenced by temperature. Across 7.6–35.9 °C ranges, the microbial‐mediated DOC dynamics is characterized by three temperature thresholds.

Remote platelet function testing using P-selectin expression in patients with recent cerebral ischaemia on clopidogrel

open access: yesStroke and Vascular Neurology
Background Antiplatelet agents reduce recurrence after cerebral ischaemia but are not effective in all patients, in part because of treatment resistance. The primary aim was to assess the proportion of patients who are insensitive to clopidogrel.

Punicalagin Enhances Autophagy Through Sirtuin 1/FoxO3a Axis to Inhibit Intracellular Mycobacterium Abscessus Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Punicalagin, a pomegranate molecule, helps the body fight Mycobacterium abscessus. It preferentially boosts interstitial macrophages in the lung, stabilizing mitochondria and switching on the autophagy via SIRT1/FoxO3a, which lowers bacterial load without directly killing bacteria.

An Injectable Zwitterionic Hydrogels with Multiple Intermolecular Interactions for Effective Prevention of Abdominal Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An injectable PSA‐ZnO through multiple intermolecular including hydrogen bonds and electrostatic interactions for effectively prevents abdominal adhesions. The PSA‐ZnO hydrogel demonstrates superior wound healing promotion (≥ 95%) and more effective inhibition of scar formation compared to the commercial 3M dressing (≈80%), and prevents post‐operative ...

Universal 3D‐Printing of Suspended Metal Oxide Nanowire Arrays on MEMS for AI‐Optimized Combinatorial Gas Fingerprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A universal meniscus‐guided 3D printing method enables direct fabrication of suspended metal oxide nanowires on MEMS chips. It achieves 180 nm resolution, compositional tunability, and integration on 1.5 µm thick membranes. Twenty‐four types of nanowires are printed to investigate gas responses, from which complementary materials enabled time window ...
