Associative memory advantage in grapheme-colour synaesthetes compared to older, but not younger adults

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2014
People with grapheme-colour synaesthesia perceive enriched experiences of colours in response to graphemes (letters, digits). In this study, we examined whether these synaesthetes show a generic associative memory advantage for stimuli that do not elicit

Gut microbiota alterations in patients with non‐small‐cell lung cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigated the impact of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) on the gut microbiota in patients with locally advanced non‐small‐cell lung cancer. Overall gut microbiota composition remained largely stable throughout CRT while antibiotic exposure may influence microbial diversity.

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Dissociating the Electrophysiological correlates between Item Retrieval and Associative Retrieval in Associative Recognition: From the Perspective of Directed Forgetting

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2016
Although many behavioral studies have reported associative memory was different from item memory, evidence coming from ERP researches has been in debate.

Chaotic bidirectional associative memory

open access: yesProceedings of International Conference on Neural Networks (ICNN'96), 1996
A chaotic bidirectional associative memory (CBAM) is proposed and simulated. It can deal with one-to-many associations such as {(A,a), (A,b), (A,c),/spl middot//spl middot//spl middot/}. In the CBAM, in order to enable one-to-many associations, each training pair is memorized together with its own contextual information and chaotic neurons are employed

Yeast Gcn2 retains activity following humanization of its auto‐phosphorylation region

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model to study Gcn2 activation and regulation is limited by the lack of antibodies detecting phosphorylated Gcn2. To overcome this, we engineered Gcn2‐HsC, a yeast Gcn2 variant recognizable by commercial anti‐human phospho‐GCN2 antibodies.

Exploring the influence of lactoferrin on wound healing and related signaling pathways: a systematic review

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Lactoferrin promotes wound healing by activating MAPK, PI3K/Akt, and extracellular matrix pathways, enhancing fibroblast remodeling, proliferation, and re‐epithelialization. These mechanisms highlight its therapeutic potential in inflammation control, tissue repair, and remodeling.

Associative memory in gene regulation networks

open access: yes, 2010
The pattern of gene expression in the phenotype of an organism is determined in part by the dynamical attractors of the organism’s gene regulation network.
