An example of a kinetic system with address-bearing molecules and directed interactions is investigated. We show that by introducing exchange between Ising spins via the address-bearing messengers, the Hopfield model of associative memory can be made local.

Forgetting in an association memory
Proceedings of the 1961 16th ACM national meeting on -, 1961Though the phenomenon of forgetting is an everyday and commonplace experience of human intelligent systems it has been inadequately treated by theorists of intelligent systems (human and computer). On the one hand there is the stark behavioral fact that humans who were, at one point in time, able to respond in some particular way to some particular ...

Neural Networks, 1996
Abstract We previously proposed to use complex numbers in neural networks to take into consideration the phase differences among impulse trains. In the present paper, we propose a complex associative memory in which input and output patterns are composed of the values 1 and − 1 and weights, and hence the membrane potentials, take complex values ...

Association of KIBRA and memory
Neuroscience Letters, 2009We report on the association of KIBRA with memory in two samples of older individuals assessed on either memory for semantically unrelated word stimuli (Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test, n=2091), or a measure of semantically related material (the WAIS Logical Memory Test of prose-passage recall, n=542).

Judgments of associative memory☆
Cognitive Psychology, 2007Judgments of associative memory (JAM) were indexed by ratings given to pairs of cue and response words. The normed probabilities, p(response|cue), were obtained from free association norms. The ratings were linearly related to the probabilities. The JAM functions were characterized by high intercepts ( approximately 50 on a 100 point scale) and shallow

Pseudo-Orthogonalization of Memory Patterns for Associative Memory
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2013A new method for improving the storage capacity of associative memory models on a neural network is proposed. The storage capacity of the network increases in proportion to the network size in the case of random patterns, but, in general, the capacity suffers from correlation among memory patterns.

Probabilistic associative memories
2008 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence), 2008Recurrent multilayer network structures and Hebbian learning are two of the research results on the brain that are widely accepted by neuroscientists. The former led to multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) and recurrent MLPs, and the latter to associative memories.

A mechanism of serial association in the brain is discussed. The passage from one state to another is assumed to be effected by a control operated by the thalamus on the cortex. Memory failure mechanisms are discussed, such as insufficient imprint, as well as Freudian failure phenomena.

An Associative Memory for Association Rule Mining
2007 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, 2007Association rule mining is a thoroughly studied problem in data mining. Its solution has been aimed for by approaches based on different strategies involving, for instance, the use of novel data structures to represent the knowledge discovered, the transformation of the input data to speed up the process, the exploitation of the itemset properties ...

A superconductive associative memory
Proceedings of the May 1-3, 1962, spring joint computer conference on - AIEE-IRE '62 (Spring), 1962The general properties of an associative memory are explained, and their advantages relative to a random access memory discussed. Then, a superconductive mechanization of such a memory is described which is based upon the cross film cryotron. The memory requires 5 cryotrons per bit and 9 cryotrons for a control module associated with each word.
