Acceleratorboard for neural associative memories

Neurocomputing, 1993
Abstract A parallel and scalable architecture for rapid prototyping as well as for fast emulation of neural associative memories is described. The implementation is based on custom available components: RAMs and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).

Combined associative memories

Optics Letters, 1990
One of the major problems with conventional associative memory models is that there exists a set of stable false and oscillatory states in addition to the true memories in the models. To solve this problem, a combined associative memory model is proposed.

The associative memory structure

Proceedings of the November 30--December 1, 1965, fall joint computer conference, part I on XX - AFIPS '65 (Fall, part I), 1965
The development of the Associative Structure Computer (ASC) was partly motivated by the opportunities and problems of designing, manufacturing, interconnecting and using batch fabricated devices, particularly cryotrons. Some of these points are discussed in the third paper of this series, "The Associative Structure Computer," which describes the ...

Associative memory with occurrence statistics

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2016
Distributed associative memory architectures store data in multiple locations redundantly, and are thus robust to circuit irregularities and noise. In this paper we explain ways to store the occurrence statistics of vectors in a distributed memory.

Bidirectional associative memories

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1988
Stability and encoding properties of two-layer nonlinear feedback neural networks are examined. Bidirectionality is introduced in neural nets to produce two-way associative search for stored associations. The bidirectional associative memory (BAM) is the minimal two-layer nonlinear feedback network.

Associative List Memory

Neural Networks, 1997
This paper introduces an Associative List Memory (ALM) that has high recall fidelity with low memory and low processing requirements. This permits a simple implementation in software on a personal computer or space instrument microprocessor. Associative List Memory has a performance comparable with Sparse Distributed Memory (SDM) but differs from SDM ...

Order-memory and association-memory.

Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology / Revue canadienne de psychologie expérimentale, 2015
Two highly studied memory functions are memory for associations (items presented in pairs, such as SALT-PEPPER) and memory for order (a list of items whose order matters, such as a telephone number). Order- and association-memory are at the root of many forms of behaviour, from wayfinding, to language, to remembering people's names.

A magnetic associative memory

Proceedings of the April 30--May 2, 1968, spring joint computer conference on - AFIPS '68 (Spring), 1968
Hundreds of technical papers and reports on associative systems have been published since 1956 when the first electronic associative memory was reported. So far the use of such a system is still very limited because of its cost. But the tremendous technological advances made in the batch fabrication of thin films and integrated circuits for the last ...

Adaptive Bidirectional Associative Memories

Applied Optics, 1987
Bidirectionality, forward and backward information flow, is introduced in neural networks to produce two-way associative search for stored stimulus-response associations (A(i),B(i)). Two fields of neurons, F(A) and F(B), are connected by an n x p synaptic marix M.

An Adaptive Associative Memory Principle

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1974
It is shown that an analog associative memory with optimal selectivity can be formed in adaptive processes which use learning algorithms related to the gradient method. The information is distributed throughout the memory by a matrix transform.
