Patient Admission Patterns and Acquisitions of "Feeder" Hospitals [PDF]
Large, urban tertiary care hospitals often acquire outlying community hospitals. One possible motivation is to increase referrals. Sophisticated acquirers may even attempt to concentrate additional referrals among more profitable patients.

Water‐Stable Paper‐Based Laser‐Induced Graphene With Asymmetric Water Adhesion and Wettability
Paper‐based electronics are attractive for sustainable and disposable devices, but often fail in wet environments. By introducing Parafilm into cellulose paper combined with laser conversion, two graphene surfaces with different water interactions are created.

Safe Harbors for Quantity Discounts and Bundling [PDF]
The courts and analysts continue to struggle to articulate safe harbors for a wide variety of common business pricing practices in which either a single product is sold at a discount if purchased in bulk or in which multiple products are bundled together

Hair keratin fibers inevitably deteriorate under UV exposure, heat, and dryness. A robust composite coating assembles delaminated Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets onto keratin surfaces through biocompatible metal‐polyphenol networks of EGCG. This hybrid layer simultaneously screens UV, dissipates heat, reinforces mechanical strength, suppresses static charge ...

What is the Effect of U.S. Antidumping Duties on Imports? Some Evidence from the Sunset Review Process [PDF]
The voluminous literature on the U.S. antidumping laws has a curious lacuna. There is little in this literature about the effects of antidumping duties on the volume of subject imports. One reason this key question has not frequently been investigated is

Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

Predicting the Competitive Effects of Mergers by Listening to Customers [PDF]
This article explores the role of customers in informing competition authorities and courts about the likely effects of proposed mergers. It discusses when, and about what, customers are most likely to be valuable sources of information.

We report a multi‐jet, layer‐by‐layer electrospray‐assisted interfacial polymerization (LBL‐EAIP) approach for the scalable fabrication of polyamide reverse osmosis (RO) membranes. The method enables precise control of polymerization, uniform polyamide coverage, and tunable polyamide film thickness, while delivering consistently high filtration ...
