Enhanced Superconductivity and Rashba Effect in a Buckled Plumbene‐Au Kagome Superstructure
Plumbene, with a structure similar to graphene, is expected to possess a strong spin–orbit coupling and thus enhances its superconducting critical temperature (Tc).

High resolution scanning tunneling spectroscopy of ultrathin Pb on Si(111)-(6x6) substrate
The electronic structure of Si(111)-(6x6)Au surface covered with submonolayer amount of Pb is investigated using scanning tunneling spectroscopy. Already in small islands of Pb with thickness of 1 ML Pb$_{(111)}$ and with the diameter of only about 2 nm ...

Au@Pt Dendrimer Encapsulated Nanoparticles As Model Electrocatalysts for Comparison of Experiment and Theory [PDF]
In this paper we report the electrochemical synthesis of core@shell dendrimer-encapsulated nanoparticles (DENs) consisting of cores containing 147 Au atoms (Au-147) and Pt shells having similar to 54 or similar to 102 atoms (Au-147@Pt-n (n = 54 or 102)).

Acoustic Plasmon on the Au(111) Surface
We report an acoustic surface plasmon mode on the Au(111) surface, which disperses into the visible region, as measured by high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy. The new mode is assigned to an acoustic surface plasmon arising from the Shockley-type surface state electrons and coexists with the conventional surface plasmon.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Porphyrin Supramolecular Arrays Formed by Weakly Interacting Meso-Functional Groups on Au(111)
The formation of a binary porphyrinic self-assembled system between meso-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (TCPP) and meso-tetrakis(4-dimethyl amino) porphyrin (TDAP) was easily designed through non-covalent interactions in solution and adsorbed on a ...

Computational design of metal-supported molecular switches: Transient ion formation during light- and electron-induced isomerisation of azobenzene [PDF]
In molecular nanotechnology, a single molecule is envisioned to act as the basic building block of electronic devices. Such devices may be of special interest for organic photovoltaics, data storage, and smart materials.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
