Glycerol ethoxylate (GEO), a branched ethylene glycol derivative, both toughens commercial PLLA and accelerates its chemical recycling to L‐lactide. The lead sample, containing 10 wt.% GEO, shows 9x higher elongation at break and 6x higher tensile toughness than pure PLLA. The GEO–PLLA samples are efficiently chemically recycled to L‐lactide, even when

Self‐Immolative Gels: Programmable Degradation Using Self‐Immolative Linkers and Polymers
Self‐immolative linkers and polymers undergo bond‐cleaving reaction cascades in response to specific stimuli. Their incorporation into gels can be harnessed to release cargo, induce property changes, or trigger degradation in a highly controlled manner. These functions can be employed in applications such as sensing and drug delivery.

Density fingering of an exothermic autocatalytic reaction
Density fingering of exothermic autocatalytic fronts in vertically oriented porous media and Hele-Shaw cells is studied theoretically for chemical reactions where the solutal and thermal contribution to density changes have opposite signs. The competition between these two effects leads to thermal plumes for ascending fronts.

The Asymmetric Self‐Replicative Alkylation of N‐Arylaldimines Using Organolithium Reagents
Here, we report a new asymmetric autoinductive reaction; the addition of nBuLi to N‐arylaldimines to form chiral lithium amides. The reaction proceeds with full conversion and complete transfer of chirality, representing the first example of an asymmetric autoinductive reaction with organolithium reagents.

Machine Learning Assisted Prediction of Degradation Behavior of Poly(Lactic‐Co‐Glycolic Acid)
Using a gradient boosting‐based machine learning model trained on 484 data points, this study predicts the degradation behavior of poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) (PLGA) implants. Degradation time, molecular weight, and lactide/glycolide ratio were identified as key governing factors, enabling accurate prediction while reducing reliance on extensive ...

A molecular approach to complex adaptive systems [PDF]
Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS) are dynamical networks of interacting agents which as a whole determine the behavior, adaptivity and cognitive ability of the system. CAS are ubiquitous and occur in a variety of natural and artificial systems (e.g., cells,
