Celiac Disease Autoimmunity [PDF]
Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition triggered by the ingestion of gluten, the protein fraction of wheat, barley and rye. It is not simply an intestinal disease; it is multifactorial caused by many different genetic factors acting together with non-genetic causes.

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

Statistical Inference for Genetic Relatedness Based on High-Dimensional Logistic Regression [PDF]
This paper studies the problem of statistical inference for genetic relatedness between binary traits based on individual-level genome-wide association data. Specifically, under the high-dimensional logistic regression models, we define parameters characterizing the cross-trait genetic correlation, the genetic covariance and the trait-specific genetic ...

Shared genetic variants suggest common pathways in allergy and autoimmune diseases. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The relationship between allergy and autoimmune disorders is complex and poorly understood. OBJECTIVE: To investigate commonalities in genetic loci and pathways between allergy and autoimmune diseases to elucidate shared disease mechanisms ...

Selective JAKinibs: Prospects in Inflammatory and Autoimmune Diseases
Cytokines, many of which signal through the JAK–STAT (Janus kinase–Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription) pathway, play a central role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

IDMF is a derivative of dimethyl fumarate (DMF) with a unique therapeutic potential at the intersection of psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. Here, we demonstrate that it compares favorably with DMF and its other derivatives, such as Diroximel, in the zebrafish, microglia, and lymphocyte models.
