Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Optimized Hierarchical Sliding Mode Control for the Swing-Up and Stabilization of a Rotary Inverted Pendulum

open access: yesAutomation
This paper presents a study on controlling a rotary inverted pendulum (RIP) system using a hierarchical sliding mode control (HSMC) approach. The objective is to swing up and stabilize the pendulum at a desired position.

The ACCEPTance of automation: refining circulating tumor cells enumeration for improved metastatic colorectal cancer prognosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study highlights the potential of automated enumeration using the ACCEPT software to refine circulating tumor cell (CTC) detection in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). The automated method demonstrates improved accuracy and reduced variability compared to the manual approach.

Accelerated Transfer Learning for Cooperative Transportation Formation Change via SDPA-MAPPO (Scaled Dot Product Attention-Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimization)

open access: yesAutomation
A method for cooperative transportation, which required formation change in a traveling environment, is gaining interest. Deep reinforcement learning is used in formation changes for multi-robot cases.

Phase Preserving Balanced Truncation for Order Reduction of Positive Real Systems

open access: yesAutomation, 2022
This paper presents a new passivity-preserving order reduction method for linear time-invariant passive systems, which are also called positive real (PR) systems, with the aid of the balanced truncation (BT) method.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
