GS‐9620 alleviates psoriasis‐like inflammation by regulating autophagy in keratinocytes

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Psoriasis is an immune‐mediated inflammatory disease of the skin characterized by excessive proliferation and abnormal differentiation of keratinocytes. GS‐9620 can increase the expression of ATG5, ATG7 and ATG16L1, thereby regulating the autophagy of keratinocytes and inhibiting the secretion of related inflammatory factors.

Retrograde transport of TrkB-containing autophagosomes via the adaptor AP-2 mediates neuronal complexity and prevents neurodegeneration

open access: yes, 2017
Autophagosomes primarily mediate turnover of cytoplasmic proteins or organelles to provide nutrients and eliminate damaged proteins. In neurons, autophagosomes form in distal axons and are trafficked retrogradely to fuse with lysosomes in the soma ...

Ultrasound‐activated in situ click chemistry to trigger autophagosome tracking for enhanced autophagy blockade and synergistic cancer therapy

open access: yesAggregate
The blockade of cytoprotective autophagy has been demonstrated to effectively enhance the efficacy of sonodynamic therapy (SDT). However, the limited recognition of antiautophagy agents for autophagosomes impedes the clinical application of autophagy ...

Foot-and-mouth disease virus induces autophagosomes during cell entry via a class III phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-independent pathway

open access: yes, 2012
Autophagy is an intracellular pathway that can contribute to innate antiviral immunity by delivering viruses to lysosomes for degradation or can be beneficial for viruses by providing specialized membranes for virus replication.

Biomaterial design strategies for enhancing mitochondrial transplantation therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Biomaterials to facilitate mitochondrial transplantation therapy: biomaterials as barriers to protect mitochondria from pathophysiological microenvironments, like osmotic stress caused by the excessive concentration of calcium ion, reactive oxygen species, and advanced glycation end products; biomaterials integrating with biochemical cues to improve ...
