A Near-Infrared Enhanced Field-Line Crowding Based CMOS-Integrated Avalanche Photodiode

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2023
This paper presents a CMOS-integrated linear-mode avalanche photodiode based on electric field-line crowding (EFLC-APD) to form an effective multiplication zone and a wide absorption zone. The EFLC-APD possesses a hemispherical avalanching electric field

Nanodiamond Sensing in Dynamic Environments With Fast‐Tracking Through Four‐Point Positioning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A four‐point positioning tracking (4PPT) platform enables fast 3D feedback translational tracking of fluorescent nanodiamonds while simultaneously recording ODMR spectra. By integrating real‐time translational tracking with quantum sensing, mobile nanodiamonds are used for in‐situ nanothermometry, nanorheometry, and 6D translation–rotation tracking in ...

4H–SiC Avalanche Photodiode Linear Array Operating in Geiger Mode

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
In this study, a 50-pixel linear array of 4H–SiC ultraviolet avalanche photodiodes operating in Geiger mode is reported for the first time. The 50 pixels within the linear array are all capable of detecting single photons but with a small number ...

Deterministic Nucleation of Nanocrystal Superlattices on 2D Perovskites for Light‐Funneling Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates the heterogeneous nucleation of CsPbBr3${\rm CsPbBr}_3$ nanocrystal superlattices along the faces of 2D PEA2PbBr4${\rm PEA}_2{\rm PbBr}_4$ layered perovskite microcrystals. Core–crown and core–shell heterostructure morphologies are obtained.

Rotating Fluorescent Nanodiamond Assemblies With Focused Laguerre–Gaussian Beams

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled fluorescent nanodiamond clusters are optically trapped and driven into controlled two‐dimensional rotation with Laguerre–Gaussian beams. With localized optical excitation, optically detected magnetic resonance spectra are collected at defined points along the orbit in a uniform external magnetic field.
