Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Refined algebraic quantisation with the triangular subgroup of SL(2,R)

open access: yes, 2004
We investigate refined algebraic quantisation with group averaging in a constrained Hamiltonian system whose gauge group is the connected component of the lower triangular subgroup of SL(2,R). The unreduced phase space is T^*R^{p+q} with p>0 and q>0, and

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Addendum to Higher order stroboscopic averaged functions: a general relationship with Melnikov functions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
This addendum presents a relevant stronger consequence of the main theorem of the paper “Higher order stroboscopic averaged functions: a general relationship with Melnikov functions”, Electron. J. Qual. Theory Differ. Equ. 2021, No. 77.

Periodic orbits near equilibria via averaging theory of second order

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2012
Lyapunov, Weinstein and Moser obtained remarkable theorems giving sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic orbits emanating from an equilibrium point of a differential system with a first integral.

On quantum averaging, quantum KAM and quantum diffusion

open access: yes, 2012
For nonautonomous Hamiltonian systems and their quantisations we discuss properties of the quantised systems, related to those of the corresponding classical systems, described by the KAM-related theories: the proper KAM, the averaging theory, the ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Thermally-Assisted Spin-Transfer Torque Dynamics in Energy Space

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the general Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert theory underlying the magnetization dynamics of a macrospin magnet subject to spin-torque effects and thermal fluctuations.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

A New Empirical Approach to Intercultural Comparisons of Value Preferences Based on Schwartz’s Theory

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
Empirical tests of Schwartz’s theory of culture-level value priorities have predominantly been performed using an averaging approach–as values of the average individual in a culture. However, from a theory of measurement standpoint such an approach seems
