Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Quantum quenches and thermalization in SYK models
We study non-equilibrium dynamics in SYK models using quantum quench. We consider models with two, four, and higher fermion interactions (q = 2, 4, and higher) and use two different types of quench protocol, which we call step and bump quenches.

Pre-Averaging Based Estimation of Quadratic Variation in the Presence of Noise and Jumps: Theory, Implementation, and Empirical Evidence [PDF]
This paper provides theory as well as empirical results for pre-averaging estimators of the daily quadratic variation of asset prices. We derive jump robust inference for pre-averaging estimators, corresponding feasible central limit theorems and an ...

Extreme Value Theory for Moving Average Processes
This is an interesting qualitative and quantitative study of extreme values of moving averages of variables with smooth tails. Let \(\{X_ t=\sum c_{\lambda -t}Z_{\lambda}\}\) be an infinite moving average process, with \(\{c_{\lambda}\}\) given constants and with the noise sequence \(\{Z_{\lambda}\}\) consisting of i.i.d. random variables.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

An asymptotic theory for model selection inference in general semiparametric problems. [PDF]
Recently, Hjort and Claeskens (2003) developed an asymptotic theory for model selection, model averaging and post-model selection/averaging inference using likelihood methods in parametric models, along with associated confidence statements.

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

A Derivation of the Nonlocal Volume-Averaged Equations for Two-Phase Flow Transport
In this paper a detailed derivation of the general transport equations for two-phase systems using a method based on nonlocal volume averaging is presented.
