Spin glasses without time-reversal symmetry and the absence of a genuine structural glass transition
We study the three-spin model and the Ising spin glass in a field using Migdal-Kadanoff approximation. The flows of the couplings and fields indicate no phase transition, but they show even for the three-spin model a slow crossover to the asymptotic high-

There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Empirical tests of Schwartz’s theory of culture-level value priorities have predominantly been performed using an averaging approach–as values of the average individual in a culture. However, from a theory of measurement standpoint such an approach seems

Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

First-principles study of lattice instabilities in Ba_xSr_(1-x)TiO_3
Using first-principles calculations based on a variational density functional perturbation theory, we investigate the lattice dynamics of solid solutions of barium and strontium titanates.

Obtaining Closure for Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchanger Modeling Based on Volume Averaging Theory (VAT)
Modeling a fin-and-tube heat exchanger as porous media based on volume averaging theory (VAT), specific geometry can be accounted for in such a way that the details of the original structure can be replaced by their averaged counterparts, and the VAT ...

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Periodic orbits for a class of galactic potentials
In this work, applying general results from averaging theory, we find periodic orbits for a class of Hamiltonian systems $H$ whose potential models the motion of elliptic galaxies.Comment: 8 pages, Accepted for publication in Astrophysics and Space ...

Hopf bifurcation for some analytic differential systems in R^3 via averaging theory
We study the Hopf bifurcation from the singular point with eigenvalues $a$e$ \ \pm\ bi$ and $c $e located at the origen of an analytic differential system of the form $ \dot x= f( x)$, where $x \in \R^3$.
