Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

Multistate Azobenzene-Norbornadiene Photoswitches for Molecular Solar Thermal Energy Storage. [PDF]
Systems consisting of two different photoswitches (azobenzene and norbornadiene) are presented, which can be switched by light, store energy, and release it again. The combination of the switching units leads to synergistic effects. ABSTRACT The combination of two photochromic molecules into a multimodal photoswitch offers the potential to generate new

Amphiphilic chloroazobenzenes, bearing different amino acids as end groups alanine, phenylalanine, and valine, exhibit excellent photoisomerizations. Varying structures of three amino acid groups participate in supramolecular formations and therefore photoinduced morphological transformations via adjusting intermolecular interactions. These interaction

A Versatile Strategy for Light-Driven Active Transport of Ions. [PDF]
We report a light‐driven primary active transport system based on an azobenzene carrier that drives uphill ion movement across phase‐separated compartments. Tunable ion‐pairing enables selective co‐transport under buffered conditions, advancing synthetic systems that emulate biological ion pumps.

Liquid Crystalline Elastomers in Soft Robotics: Assessing Promise and Limitations
Liquid crystalline elastomers (LCEs) are programmable soft materials that undergo large, anisotropic deformation in response to external stimuli. Their molecular alignment encodes directional actuation in a monolithic structure, making them long‐standing candidates for soft robotic systems.
