Stone-type theorem on b-metric spaces and applications

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2015
A triple \((X,d,k)\) is called a \(b\)-metric space if \(X\) is a non-empty set, \(k\geq 1\) is a constant, and \(d: X\times X\to[0,+\infty)\) is a function satisfying (1) \(d(x,y)= 0\) if and only if \(x=y\), (2) \(d(x,y)= d(y, x)\), and (3) \(d(x, z)\leq k[d(x,y)+ d(y, z)]\) for all \(x,y,z\in X\). For \(k=2\), \(b\)-metric spaces were introduced by \

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

The B-completion of a T0-quasi-metric space

open access: yes, 2009
We continue our study of the conjugate invariant method for completing an arbitrary T0-quasi-metric space which we have introduced in an earlier article under the name of the B-completion.

Convex contractions on extended $ b $-metric spaces

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
<p>This research investigated different types of convex contractions in the setting of extended $ b $-metric spaces from the point of view of the existence and uniqueness of their fixed points. The assumptions imposed on involved mappings refer to convexity of order $ 2 $, two-sided convexity or Ćirić-type convexity, which also ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Various Suzuki type theorems in b -metric spaces

open access: yesJournal of Nonlinear Sciences and Applications, 2015
Summary: In this paper, we prove some fixed point results for \(\alpha\)-admissible mappings which satisfy Suzuki type contractive condition in the setup of \(b\)-metric spaces. Finally, examples are presented to verify the effectiveness and applicability of our main results.
