Toxinogenic Bacillus pumilus and Bacillus licheniformis from mastitic milk
Veterinary Microbiology, 2007To elucidate the occurrence of heat-stable toxin-producing strains among mastitic Bacillus isolates, 100 milk samples of mastitic cows from different parts of Finland were screened. Bacillus was identified as the major organism in 23 samples. Toxinogenic Bacillus isolates identified by sperm cell motility inhibition assay were isolated from six samples.

Tannase production by Bacillus licheniformis
Biotechnology Letters, 2000Bacillus licheniformis KBR 6 produced maximum extracellular tannase activity at 0.21 U ml−1 with 1.5% (w/v) tannic acid either in the absence or presence of glucose (1 g l−1) after 18–21 h growth though the organism did not attain maximum growth until 36 h.

[Denitrification by Bacillus licheniformis].
Canadian journal of microbiology, 1979The denitrifying capacity of 15 strains of Bacillus licheniformis was evaluated. In general, N2 production by the cultures on complex media containing NO3- is irregular and quite slow and three of the strains never produce gas. Bacillus licheniformis grows rapidly in anaerobiosis on peptone medium containing NO3- which is reduced to NO2-.

Ove čestice dugo zadržavaju polimerni oblik, te se dugo i zadržavaju u okolišu pa je potrebno ispitivati njihov utjecaj na vodene organizme.

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1969Abstract Dihydrodipicolinate synthase from Bacillus licheniformis was purified approx. 200-fold from that present in initial cell-free extracts. No cofactors were found to be required for activity. Sigmoid pyruvate-dihydrodipicolinate synthase saturation curves were obtained suggesting pyruvate site cooperativity.
