Pediatric ALL Treatment Modifications in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJCO Global Oncology
PURPOSEFor children with ALL in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), treatment regimen adaptation based on local contexts is often necessary. However, the clinical impact of such modifications is poorly understood.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Insights into the detection of AMPA cross-reactivity: comparing cyclic peptide- to protein-based assays

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy
Background Autoantibodies targeting antigens carrying distinct post-translational modifications (PTMs), including citrullinated, carbamylated, and acetylated residues, are characteristic for rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Effect of Steric Constraint at the γ-Backbone Position on the Conformations and Hybridization Properties of PNAs

open access: yesJournal of Nucleic Acids, 2011
Conformationally preorganized peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) have been synthesized through backbone modifications at the γ-position, where R = alanine, valine, isoleucine, and phenylalanine side chains. The effects of these side-chains on the conformations

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Repatterning of mammalian backbone regionalization in cetaceans

open access: yesNature Communications
Cetacean reinvasion of the aquatic realm is an iconic ecological transition that led to drastic modifications of the mammalian body plan, especially in the axial skeleton. Relative to the vertebral column of other mammals that is subdivided into numerous

CancerSeg-XA: Enhanced Breast Cancer Histo-pathology Segmentation Using Xception Backbone with Attention Mechanisms

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems
Breast cancer remains a formidable health challenge requiring advanced computational tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This study hypothesizes that modifica-tions to the DeepLabV3+ architecture, such as incorporating an attention layer

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
