Bainite transformation behavior, microstructural feature and mechanical properties of nanostructured bainitic steel subjected to ausforming with different strain

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
The interplay between ausforming strain level applied prior to austempering step and bainite transformation kinetic as well as plastic deformation mechanism of nanostructured bainitic steel was essentially investigated.

Two‐Stage Isothermal Transformation of Austenite into Nanobainite in a Chemically Inhomogeneous Medium‐Alloy Steel Containing 0.5 wt% C

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 6, Page 3308-3327, June 2026.
The effect of chemical inhomogeneity on the microstructure and properties of nanobainitic steel is investigated. A two‐stage isothermal heat treatment that produced a more uniform microstructure is designed. The first‐stage temperature is higher than the MS of depleted bands; conversely, the second‐stage temperature is lower than the first‐stage ...

Unraveling the Effect of Tramp Elements on Phase Transformations in Steels by Combining CALPHAD Modeling and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
This study investigates how tramp elements from increased scrap usage influence phase transformations in low‐alloyed steel. Combining dilatometry and microscopy reveal that tramp elements delay transformations, reduce critical cooling rates and increase hardenability.

The Acceleration of Phase Transformation and Strength–Toughness Match by Cerium Addition for Low‐Temperature Bainite

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The engineering application of traditional nano‐bainite steel, also known as low‐temperature bainite steel, has been restricted due to its relatively low toughness and the prolonged isothermal transformation time during manufacturing processes.

BAINITE : MOBILITY OF THE TRANSFORMATION INTERFACE

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1982
Experimental evidence is provided to show that the interface responsible for the austenite to bainite transformation exhibits the essential characteristics of a glissile, semi-coherent interface. The experiments involve a comparison between the rate of formation of bainite, and the mobility of an interface whose motion does not lead to the formation of

Regulating the Boron Content to Suppress Stress‐Relief Cracking in the Coarse‐Grained Heat‐Affected Zone of 7CrMoVTiB10.10 Heat‐Resistant Alloy

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates a new strategy for modifying the boron content to address stress‐relief cracking (SRC) in the 7CrMoVTiB10.10 alloy. First, coarse‐grained heat‐affected zone (CGHAZ) specimens with different boron contents were prepared via simulated welding thermal cycles.

Improving the high stress abrasive wear resistance of medium carbon quenched and partitioned bainitic steel by controlling the phase transformation sequence

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
To address the high stress abrasive wear challenges in mining and metallurgical applications, the three microstructures of martensite-bainite-retained austenite, bainite-martensite-retained austenite and fully martensite were obtained by controlling the ...
