Developing and characterizing monoclonal antibodies of Guertu bandavirus nucleoprotein for developing methods of Guertu bandavirus and severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus detection

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Microbiology, 2023
Belonging to genus Bandavirus in Phenuiviridae family, Guertu bandavirus (GTV) is a potential pathogen closely related to severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) and heartland virus (HRTV) associated with human diseases. Although the medical significance of GTV is not clear, there was serological evidence suggesting past infection ...

Human‐to‐Human Transmission of Severe Fever With Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Resulting in Fatal Cases: A Case Series [PDF]

open access: yesCase Reports in Infectious Diseases
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS), primarily a tick‐borne disease, can also cause fatal human‐to‐human transmission. This report analyzes a cluster of six SFTS cases identified in China in 2022, involving one index patient and five secondary infections, with an overall mortality of 83%.

Dabie bandavirus infection induces macrophagic pyroptosis and this process is attenuated by platelets

open access: yesPLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2023
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick-borne infection with a high mortality rate in humans, which is caused by Dabie bandavirus (DBV), formerly known as SFTS virus. Clinical manifestations of SFTS are characterized by high fever, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, hemorrhage, gastrointestinal symptoms, myalgia and local ...

A Model for the Production of Regulatory Grade Viral Hemorrhagic Fever Exposure Stocks: From Field Surveillance to Advanced Characterization of SFTSV

open access: yesViruses, 2020
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) is an emerging human pathogen, endemic in areas of China, Japan, and the Korea (KOR). It is primarily transmitted through infected ticks and can cause a severe hemorrhagic fever disease with case ...
