Halogen‐free biocomposite polystyrene foams were fabricated via pilot‐scale supercritical CO2 extrusion using expandable graphite, melamine polyphosphate, biochar, and recycled polymer. The optimized formulation exhibited refined cellular morphology, enhanced flame retardancy (limiting oxygen index of 25%, rapid self‐extinguishing), and improved ...

In Situ Curing‐Enabled 3D Printing of Continuous Fiber‐Reinforced Thermosetting Composites
In situ curing‐enabled the 3D printing of continuous fiber/thermoset composites, which were reviewed. Particularly, four types of in situ curing, were discussed, including Radiation‐induced curing, photothermal curing, electrothermal curing, and frontal polymerization. AI‐integrated printing was also analyzed.

ABSTRACT Proteins are built from modular domains that serve as fundamental units of structure and evolution. While individual domains have been extensively cataloged, their collective distribution across the lineages of life has remained poorly resolved.

Abstract The use of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) in precast tunnel segments is among the most established and representative applications of this material. Over the past two decades, numerous tunnel linings were constructed with partial or total substitution of conventional steel reinforcement by fibers, this yielding to quantifiable benefits in ...

ABSTRACT This article explores the current controversies surrounding the European Ariane launcher and its implications for the future of European space governance. The Ariane program, historically a symbol of European technopolitical integration, faces mounting challenges due to delays, rising costs and increasing competition from private actors like ...

A nanopore composed of transmembrane peptides and a DNA scaffold that assists peptide assembly was constructed. By employing peptides containing the unnatural amino acid 2‐aminoisobutyric acid (Aib), which promotes loose packing between helices, a large‐diameter nanopore was achieved.

Abstract Harnessing instabilities in architected lattices and metamaterials allows for controlled nonlinear deformations, enabling desired mechanical functions like shape morphing and energy absorption. By precisely tailoring instabilities such as buckling into the structure, deformations become a powerful instrument rather than a ...

Non‐canonical PKG1 regulation in cardiovascular health and disease
It is well established that the cyclic GMP‐dependent protein kinase I (PKG1) is canonically activated by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), enabling its regulation of vascular tone, cardiac function and smooth muscle homeostasis. However, diverse non‐canonical stimuli of PKG1 have also been identified.

Structure and evolution of mitochondrial outer membrane proteins of β-barrel topology
Gram-negative bacteria are the ancestors of mitochondrial organelles. Consequently, both entities contain two surrounding lipid bilayers known as the inner and outer membranes. While protein synthesis in bacteria is accomplished in the cytoplasm, mitochondria import 90-99% of their protein ensemble from the cytosol in the opposite direction.

DNA aptamers, Apt 60 and Apt 173, target the BamA protein to compromise outer membrane integrity in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, making it susceptible to Azithromycin, an antibiotic that is otherwise poorly effective due to the low‐permeability membrane.
