Characterizing morphic sequences [PDF]
Morphic sequences form a natural class of infinite sequences, extending the well-studied class of automatic sequences. Where automatic sequences are known to have several equivalent characterizations and the class of automatic sequences is known to have several closure properties, for the class of morphic sequences similar closure properties are known,

Effect of Base Sequence on G-Wire Formation in Solution
The formation and dimensions of G-wires by different short G-rich DNA sequences in solution were investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE).

During the treatment of viral or bacterial infections, it is important to evaluate any resistance to the therapeutic agents used. An amino acid substitution arising from a single base mutation in a particular gene often causes drug resistance in ...

On the base sequence conjecture
Let BS(m,n) denote the set of base sequences (A;B;C;D), with A and B of length m and C and D of length n. The base sequence conjecture (BSC) asserts that BS(n+1,n) exist (i.e., are non-empty) for all n. This is known to be true for n <= 36 and when n is a Golay number. We show that it is also true for n=37 and n=38. It is worth pointing out that BSC

Unzipping of DNA with correlated base sequence [PDF]
We consider force-induced unzipping transition for a heterogeneous DNA model with a correlated base-sequence. Both finite-range and long-range correlated situations are considered. It is shown that finite-range correlations increase stability of DNA with respect to the external unzipping force. Due to long-range correlations the number of unzipped base-

TurboFold: Iterative probabilistic estimation of secondary structures for multiple RNA sequences
Background The prediction of secondary structure, i.e. the set of canonical base pairs between nucleotides, is a first step in developing an understanding of the function of an RNA sequence.

Study of Influence of Laser Cutting Sequence upon Thermal Deformation of a Base Sheet
In case that a lot of products were cut out from a wide base sheet by laser cutting, the sheet had been much deformed so that the error occurred in a height regulator. This paper deals with thermal deformation of a base sheet caused by laser cutting.

Chloroplast genome variation in upland and lowland switchgrass. [PDF]
Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) exists at multiple ploidies and two phenotypically distinct ecotypes. To facilitate interploidal comparisons and to understand the extent of sequence variation within existing breeding pools, two complete switchgrass ...

Random Shuffling Permutations of Nucleotides [PDF]
In this paper, we discuss a shuffling sequence problem: Given a DNA sequence, we generate a random sequence that preserves the frequencies of all mononucleotides, dinucleotides, trinucleotides or some high order base-compositions of the given sequence ...
