An Autoinhibited Dimeric Form of BAX Regulates the BAX Activation Pathway [PDF]
Pro-apoptotic BAX is a cell fate regulator playing an important role in cellular homeostasis and pathological cell death. BAX is predominantly localized in the cytosol, where it has a quiescent monomer conformation. Following a pro-apoptotic trigger, cytosolic BAX is activated and translocates to the mitochondria to initiate mitochondrial dysfunction ...

FEM1B enhances TRAIL‐induced apoptosis in T lymphocytes and monocytes
FEM1B facilitates TRAIL‐induced apoptosis through distinct mechanisms in T lymphocytes and monocytes. In T lymphocytes, FEM1B engages with TRAF2, leading to a reduction in TRAF2 expression, which subsequently lessens TRAF2's inhibitory influence on caspase‐8.

Sharp Frequency Bounds for Sample-Based Queries [PDF]
A data sketch algorithm scans a big data set, collecting a small amount of data -- the sketch, which can be used to statistically infer properties of the big data set. Some data sketch algorithms take a fixed-size random sample of a big data set, and use that sample to infer frequencies of items that meet various criteria in the big data set.

The manuscript examines preclinical murine and human models to study polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), delving into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying altered ovarian follicular dynamics. It explores the cellular interactions involved in normal and PCOS ovaries and outlines the current and novel strategies in the search for preclinical ...

Effect of aerobic exercise on some factors of cardiac apoptosis in male rats
Background: Cardiac apoptosisplays an important role in myocardial diseases. Current evidence suggests that exercise training may modify some apoptosis-related signaling in myocardium.

Do diverse and inclusive workplaces benefit investors? An Empirical Analysis on Europe and the United States [PDF]
As the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions slow down, employees start to return to their offices. Hence, the discussions on optimal workplaces and issues of diversity and inclusion have peaked. Previous research has shown that employees and companies benefit from positive workplace changes.

The great migration of Bax and Bak [PDF]
The Bcl-2 proteins Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax) and Bcl-2 antagonist killer 1 (Bak) can commit cells to apoptosis. Retrotranslocation of Bax from the mitochondria into the cytosol is essential for cell survival. Recently, we reported that Bak is also present in the cytosol of healthy cells and that Bax and Bak are regulated by the same ...

BX‐001N, a polyethylene glycol‐conjugated bilirubin 3α nanoparticle, is the first GMP‐grade, synthetic bilirubin‐based nanomedicine. It effectively attenuates acute renal injury, facilitates subacute renal recovery, and suppresses chronic fibrosis after renal ischemia/reperfusion injury via anti‐oxidant and immune‐modulating activity.
