Recent advances in the construction of humanized animal models and applications in translational medicine

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Substantial advances have been achieved in the development of humanized mouse models, which have proven highly valuable in evaluating cancer immunotherapies and elucidating the mechanisms of infectious diseases. There is now a growing shift in research toward larger animal models—such as pigs—that offer greater physiological similarity to humans ...

Auditory Stimulation of Slow‐Wave Sleep Promotes Recovery after Brain Injury in an Animal Model

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Traumatic brain injury (TBI) significantly reduces the quality of life for millions of survivors worldwide, causing persistent brain tissue damage and cognitive impairments, with no established therapeutic interventions currently available.

Genetic‐Proteomic Integration Identifies Predictive Plasma Proteins for Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Multiple sclerosis (MS) develops after a prolonged preclinical phase. Identifying circulating biomarkers that capture this early biology can improve risk stratification and guide intervention. We aimed to identify plasma proteins driving MS susceptibility using large‐scale proteogenomic integration and to evaluate their prediagnostic ...

WASP family proteins regulate the mobility of the B cell receptor during signaling activation

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
B cell receptors (BCR) capture antigen and initiate downstream antibody responses, but whether and how BCR signaling is regulated by BCR mobility is still unclear.

Optimization of peripheral blood volume for in silico reconstitution of the human B‐cell receptor repertoire

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2022
B cells recognize antigens via membrane‐expressed B‐cell receptors (BCR) and antibodies. Similar human BCR sequences are frequently found at a significantly higher frequency than that theoretically calculated.

Pre-BCR Signaling In Precursor B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia regulates PI3K/AKT, FOXO1, and MYC, and can be targeted by SYK inhibition

open access: yesLeukemia, 2016
Precursor-B-cell receptor (pre-BCR) signaling and spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) recently were introduced as therapeutic targets for patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), but the importance of this pathway in B-ALL subsets and ...

Use of Restricted Nursing and a Bovine Appeasing Substance on the Welfare, Growth Performance, and Response to Vaccination of Beef Calves at Weaning

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
The effects of restricted nursing (RN) and the administration of a bovine appeasing substance (BAS) on days −8 and 0 in relation to weaning were evaluated. Both strategies were effective in improving the growth performance of beef calves. Regarding welfare, BAS ‐especially on day 0‐ was more effective than RN.

The Role of miRNAs in Chicken Immune Regulation and Prospects for Disease‐Resistant Breeding

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
A schematic workflow illustrating the screening of disease‐resistant miRNAs and the generation of miRNA‐based disease‐resistant chickens via PGC‐mediated germline genome editing. ABSTRACT MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are emerging as pivotal regulators of the immune system, playing a decisive role in shaping disease resistance in chicken.

ROLE OF BREAK CLUSTER REGION (BCR) - ABELSON MURINE LEUKIMIA (ABL) EXAMINATION IN CHRONIC MYELOGENOUS LEUKEMIA (CML)

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Tropical and Infectious Disease, 2015
Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a clonal bone marrow stem cell disorder associated with a characteristic chromosomal translocation called the Philadelphia chromosome which caused a proliferation of mature granulocytes (neutrophils, eosinophils and ...
