Preparation and Characterization of Celecoxib Nanosuspension Using Bead Milling

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2019
The aim of this study is to develop nanosuspension for improved dissolution of poorly water-soluble celecoxib. We first prepared coarse suspension of celecoxib with Tween 80 and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose as stabilizers, and then fabricated nanosuspension using the bead milling technique.

A Study of the Packing of Milled Fiberglass and Glass Beads

Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 1973
Abstract This paper presents a study of the packing of glass fibres and glass spheres (beads). Initially the effect of varying the length-to-diameter ration (L/D) was studied in relation to the bulk volume in fibre packing and then the packing of combinations of spheres and fibres was studied at various sphere and fibre diameter ratios.

Numerical Modelling of Grinding in a Horizontal Bead Mill

2019 International Conference on Advances in Construction Machinery and Vehicle Engineering (ICACMVE), 2019
Bead mill is the most widely used wet grinding equipment in the field of ultrafine grinding. The grinding device is the main working part of the bead mill. In order to optimize the design parameters of the grinding device and improve the grinding effect of the horizontal bead mill, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the flow field in the ...

Disruption of baker's yeast by a new bead mill

Biotechnology Techniques, 1990
A continuous high-speed bead mill of novel design (Sulzer Annu Mill 01) was tested for cell disruption of baker's yeast as a model system. The efficiency of cell disruption was evaluated for the relative amount of released protein. The effects of rotation speed, cell concentration and flow rate of cell suspension on the cell disruption were ...

Stirrer bead mills — the latest trends

Pigment & Resin Technology, 1992
Higher expectations in the performance of modern stirrer bead mills in respect of particle fineness, grit size distribution, larger proportion of pigments and consequently higher viscosity, currently have a considerable influence on the design and construction of new mills.

Fine grinding of polymers in a vibrated bead mill

Powder Technology, 1999
Abstract Three polymers, having various glass temperatures, have been ground in a shaker bead mill. One is a friable polymer (poly(vinyl acetate), PVA) and two are thermoplastic polymers (polystyrene (PS) and polyethylene (PE)). These materials have been ground for various operating conditions (bead and polymer loads, vibration frequency, temperature)

Physico-chemical milling for controlled size reduction of metal beads

Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2014
Here we report a new physico-chemical method based on bipolar electrochemistry for producing spherical metal beads with a well-controlled size. Applying an electric field to a low conductivity electrolyte containing metal beads leads to a polarization potential across the beads, which triggers their electrodissolution.

A kinetic analysis of cell disruption by bead mill. The influence of bead loading, bead size and agitator speed.

Bioseparation, 1992
The influence of operating parameters such as bead loading, peripheral velocity and bead size on the kinetic behavior of cell disruption in a bead mill was investigated. The bead mill was equipped with a single rotating disc and operated batchwise. Analysis of the data showed that the frequency of bead collision may be correlated to the observed first ...
