Microbial Hydrolysates as Amino Acid Source in Cell Culture Media for Cellular Agriculture

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 10, Page 2520-2535, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The high cost of cultivation media remains one of the barriers to the commercialization of cultivated meat. Current serum‐free media reduce reliance on fetal bovine serum but only achieve modest cost savings. Especially at larger scales (> 20 m3), pharmaceutical‐grade amino acids and recombinant proteins remain major cost drivers.

How Does the Australian Media Report on the Health and Environmental Impacts of Meat Consumption and Production? A Media Analysis

open access: yesHealth Promotion Journal of Australia, Volume 37, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Issue Addressed Australia is a high meat‐producing and consuming country, yet little Australia‐specific research has examined how news media frame meat's health and environmental impacts and related solutions. Methods We analysed 147 Australian print and online news articles published between 15 May 2020 and 15 May 2025 across 12 major outlets.

Genetic Diversity and Epidemiological Overlap of Staphylococcus aureus at the Animal–Food–Environment–Human Interface Within a One Health Framework

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, October 2026.
Integrating farm‐to‐fork and clinical surveillance, this study reveals distinct SCCmec distributions alongside shared spa types across human, animal, and food interfaces. The results of genetic diversity and epidemiological overlap underscore the critical need for coordinated One Health surveillance to monitor multi‐sectoral Staphylococcus aureus ...
