Iron Catalysts with Silyl‐NHC Chelate Ligands: Controlling Factors for Hydroboration vs. Dehydrogenative Borylation of Olefins

Silyl‐NHC chelate iron complexes with various substituents on NHC were synthesized and demonstrated to be active catalysts for hydroboration and dehydrogenative borylation of olefins. The selectivity of these borylation reactions is significantly controlled by the steric bulk of a substituent on the NHC nitrogen.

Sustainable One‐Pot Synthesis of N‐Substituted Pyrroles Using a Multifunctional Cobalt‐Based Catalyst

The one‐pot synthesis of N‐substituted pyrroles from nitrobenzene and 2,5‐hexanodione is first ever reported with >99% conversion and >99% chemoselectivity, in a green solvent, using a non‐noble metal‐based catalyst and hydrogen as a reductant under mild reaction conditions simultaneously.

Ethyl 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-methyl-1H-benzimidazole-5-carboxylate

In the title benzimidazole derivative, C18H18N2O3, the methoxyphenyl ring is twisted with respect to the benzimidazole ring system, making a dihedral angle of 28.81 (5)°. The pendant ethyl chain has an extended conformation.
