The Gibbs free energy of formation of halogenated benzenes, benzoates and phenols and their potential role as electron acceptors in anaerobic environments

open access: yesBiodegradation, 2014
The sequence of redox reactions in the natural environment generally follows the electron affinity of the electron acceptors present and can be rationalized by the redox potentials of the appropriate half-reactions. Answering the question how halogenated

Multi‐Mode Mechanochromic Responses from Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Elastomer Tubes of Uniform Sheath

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 34, August 28, 2025.
The structural‐colored tube is created from cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers, exhibiting uniform color changes with high strain sensitivity upon extension and inflation. The color change occurs across multiple mechanochromic modes, highlighting the influence of molecular anisotropy and tubular geometry on strain sensitivity.

Crystal structure of 3-({[(morpholin-4-yl)carbonothioyl]sulfanyl}acetyl)phenyl benzoate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
In the title compound, C20H19NO4S2, the morpholine ring adopts the expected chair conformation. The central phenyl ring makes dihedral angles of 67.97 (4) and 7.74 (3)°, respectively, with the benzoate phenyl ring and the morpholine mean plane.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Photophysical Properties of Lanthanide Coordination Polymers of 4- 4-(9H-Carbazol-9-Yl)Butoxy Benzoate: The Effect of Bidentate Nitrogen Donors on Luminescence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new aromatic carboxylate ligand, 4-[4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)butoxy]benzoic acid (HL), has been synthesized by the replacement of the hydroxyl hydrogen of 4-hydroxy benzoic acid with a 9-butyl-9H-carbazole moiety. The anion derived from HL has been used for

Spatial Control of Chiral Self‐Assembly and Lithographic Applications in Liquid Crystal Polymer Network

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a strategy to spatially control supramolecular chirality by leveraging spontaneous twist self‐assembly in liquid crystal materials. It is generated by periodic zigzag line defects that define alternating enantiomeric domains, stabilized by a polymer network. This approach enables precise defect engineering, tunable chirality, and
