Flavin Catalysts in Organic Synthesis
Flavins and their congeners are potent catalysts for organic synthesis inspired by enzymatic transformations. In addition to catalysis in the flavin ground state via covalent intermediates, the excited singlet and triplet states unlock applications including photooxidation, photoreduction, and energy transfer via sensitization.

Spoilage Growth and Benzene Evaluation of Non-carbonated Soft Drinks
Benzoic and ascorbic acids are common additives of many non-carbonated drinks but despite the presence of those preservatives, inappropriate production processes may allow the growth of spoilage.

A synergetic surface bond competition−hybridization approach was developed to synthesize high‐performance CO2 adsorbents and syngas production photocatalysts via the sulfurization‐driven control of surface basicity and interfacial coupling. The ZnIn2S4−sulfur‐doped MgO/MgAl2O4 nanocomposites showed outstanding photocatalytic efficiency for production ...

Synthesis of 1-Indanones from Benzoic Acids [PDF]
An improved process for the preparation of 1-indanones from various benzoic acids is described. This process involves a Friedel–Crafts acylation between a substituted benzoyl chloride and ethylene, followed by an intramolecular Friedel–Crafts alkylation ...

We present here (1)⊂MIP‐216(Zr), a new hybrid material composed of an FeII spin crossover complex (1) loaded in the pores of a new hydrophobic metal–organic framework (MIP‐216(Zr), that presents a high affinity toward acetic acid and acts as a highly sensitive colorimetric sensor of acetic acid vapor due to a spin state switching of the encapsulated ...

Combining recently established two ground‐breaking concepts, the adoption of WCAs and the use of alkoxyalkylamine‐based solvents in electrolyte formulations for rechargeable magnesium metal batteries, has led to unexpectedly unsuccessful electrochemical Mg plating/stripping performance. Comprehensive experimental and computational analyses revealed the

An evaluation of thermodynamic models for the prediction of drug and drug-like molecule solubility in organic solvents [PDF]
Prediction of solubility of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in different solvents is one of the main issue for crystallization process design. Experimental determination is not always possible because of the small amount of product available in ...

Beyond the Oxo‐Wall: Synthesis and Reactivity of a Six‐Coordinate Formally CoIV‐Oxo Complex
We present the first example of a six‐coordinate formally Co(IV)‐oxo complex, [Co(TQA)(O)(OH)]+ (1), which exists as an admixture of CoIV‐oxo and CoIII‐oxyl resonance structures. Complex 1 is capable of performing oxygen atom transfer reactions and abstracting moderately strong hydrogen atoms at rates faster than other characterized CoIV‐oxo compounds.
