Dyotropic Rearrangement of Hypervalent Iodine Species: Migrative Heterofunctionalization of Quaternary Carbons

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
1,2‐Aryl migration involving in situ‐generated alkyl iodine(III) species proceeds through a previously unrecognized 1,2‐C/I(III) dyotropic rearrangement. Migratory aryl fluorination, acetoxylation, and alkoxylation of 2‐alkyl‐2‐aryl‐3‐iodopropanoates provide α‐heterofunctionalized products, accompanied by aryl migration from the α‐ to the β‐position ...

Ultrastable Self‐Cross‐linkable Electro‐Optic Materials Based on a Bisanthracene Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A novel bisanthracene‐based self‐cross‐linkable electro‐optic chromophore (TD2) is developed. TD2 exhibits a high r33 of 141 pm/V and a cross‐linked Tg up to 195 °C, retaining 99.75% of its initial EO response after 500 h at 85 °C, showing record‐high thermal stability for single‐molecule self‐cross‐linking EO materials.

Vapour pressures, enthalpies and entropies of sublimation of para substituted benzoic acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The vapour pressures of six para-substituted benzoic acids were measured using the Knudsen effusion method within the pressure range (0.1-1 Pa) in the following temperature intervals: 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (365.09-387.28) K; 4-cyanobenzoic acid (355.14 ...

Two Methods for Direct ortho-Arylation of Benzoic Acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Two new palladium-catalyzed methods for the direct ortho-arylation of free benzoic acids have been developed. The first method employs stoichiometric silver acetate for iodide removal, aryl iodide as the coupling partner, and acetic acid solvent.

Functionalized Allyl Aryl Ether Synthesis from Benzoic Acids Using a Dearomatization and Decarboxylative Allylation Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A strategy toward the preparation of substituted allyl aryl ethers from benzoic acids via a dearomatization and decarboxylative allylation (DcA) reaction is presented.

Comparison of Association Constants of Cyclodextrins and Their tert-Butyl Derivatives With Halogenbenzoic Acids and Acridine Derivatives

open access: yesMolecules, 2001
Association constants of complexes of a new class of cyclodextrin alkyl derivatives - randomly susbstituted tert-butyl derivatives (TB-CDs) with complete set of mono-halobenzoic acids and acridine derivatives were measured using capillary electrophoresis

Are benzoic acids always more acidic than phenols? The case of ortho‐, meta‐, and para‐hydroxybenzoic acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
To address the title question, the relative intrinsic acidities of phenol and benzoic acid as well as the isomeric family of ortho-, meta-, and para-hydroxybenzoic acids were compared.
