Mechanism of thermal decomposition of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) from a review of decomposition studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A review of the literature on the flammability and decomposition of poly(oxy-1,4-phenyleneoxy-1,4-phenylenecarbonyl-1,4-phenylene) (PEEK) is presented. This paper provides an overview of the flammability of PEEK and its decomposition mechanisms. Based on

Maternal exposure to benzophenone derivatives and their impacts on offspring's birth outcomes in a Middle Eastern population

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Widespread use of benzophenones (BPs), a group of environmental phenolic compounds, is suspected of interfering with human health. The association of prenatal exposure to benzophenone derivatives with birth outcomes including birth weight and length ...

Machine Learning Accelerates Crystallization for Structure Determination

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (SCXRD) is often constrained by the difficulty of obtaining suitable crystals. Here, a machine learning‐accelerated co‐crystal discovery workflow is established for a crystalline mate strategy that achieves over 95% prediction accuracy and experimentally delivers 114 co‐crystals from 120 candidates.

Evidence that microsomal triglyceride transfer protein is limiting in the production of apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins in hepatic cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1998
The microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) is a heterodimeric lipid transfer protein that is required for the assembly and secretion of apolipoprotein B (apoB)-containing lipoproteins. A key unresolved question is whether the MTP-mediated step is
