UV-induced change in quercetin antioxidant activity toward benzophenone initiated lipid peroxidation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2012
The aim of this work is to estimate the degradation and change in antioxidant activity of quercetin in the presence of two different mixtures of phospholipids in methanol solution, under continuous UV-irradiation from three different sub-ranges (UV-A,

Mapping Steroidogenic Perturbations Under Endocrine Disruptor Mixtures Across Demographic Subgroups: Structural and Metabolomic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Population‐scale EDC–hormone association mapping among 4255 participants across demographic subgroups identifies phthalate metabolites as the most consistent signals associated with lower testosterone‐related markers in males. Integrative mechanistic validation prioritizes MCPP as a key phthalate metabolite linked to CYP17A1‐centered disruption of ...

Chlorine‐Free Depolymerization of Commercial PMMA via Oxygen‐Centered Radicals

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A new chlorine‐free photothermal method enables sustainable recycling of plastics with C–C backbones under mild conditions. Driven by an oxygen‐centered radical pathway with ppm levels of anthraquinone catalyst, it eliminates hazardous chlorinated solvents, achieving an impressive 97% depolymerization conversion.

Co-Crystallization and Structural Studies of Benzophenone Recognized by Positively Shifted ESPs of Perfluorinated β-Diketonate Complexes (M = Cu, Pd, Pt)

open access: yesCrystals
Benzophenone was encapsulated in molecular crystals of fully fluorinated coordination complexes, [ML2] [1, M = Cu2+ and Pd2+, L = bis(pentafluorobenzoyl)-methanido−], forming a unique chiral co-crystal with a ratio of [ML2]:benzophenone = 2:3, while no ...

Safety of benzophenone to be used as flavouring [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2017
Benzophenone [FL-no: 07.032] has been evaluated as a flavouring substance, in FGE.69, by the EFSA Panel on Food Additives, Flavourings, Processing Aids and Materials in Contact with Food in 2008. Benzophenone was evaluated also by JECFA (2011) and by IARC (2013) based on studies that were not considered in the EFSA opinion on FGE.69.

From Berzelius to Hyperspace: Previously Unrecognized Network of Reactivity in Textbook Brominations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Robotic scans across multidimensional condition spaces of classic bromination reactions uncover regions of previously unrecognized reactivity, yielding new major products and novel substitution patterns. Correlation and anticorrelation analyses of product distributions across these hyperspaces enable reconstruction of the underlying mechanistic ...
