Synthesis of Isochromans From Anacardic Acids Obtained From Cashew Nutshell Liquid (CNSL) and Their Antimicrobial Activity

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 3, March 2026.
Utilizing anacardic acid derived from cashew nut shell liquid, the synthesis of isochromans was accomplished. Two key steps were exploited. Firstly, a benzylic bromination in the green solvent tert‐butyl acetate is disclosed. Secondly, as an example, the exposure of the secondary alcohol 1‐(2‐methoxy‐6‐(pentadec‐1‐en‐1‐yl)phenyl)ethanol to potassium t ...

Microbial Contributions to Primate Reproduction

open access: yesEvolutionary Anthropology: Issues, News, and Reviews, Volume 35, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Reproduction is a complex process, and microbes play a far greater role than previously imagined. This review explores the ways that microbiomes influence the rich tapestry of reproductive processes and outcomes within the primate lineage, including pre‐copulatory and post‐copulatory mechanisms.

Photolytic release of bioactive carboxylic acids from fused pyran conjugates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
New ester cages bearing the coumarin (2H-benzopyran-2-one) skeleton with extended π-systems as phototriggers, for glycine and β-alanine, as models of carboxylic acid bifunctional molecules with biological relevance, were evaluated under photolysis ...

Identification of Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi) From Different Cultivars via LC–MS/MS and UPLC Coupled With Multivariate Chemometrics Analysis

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
A UPLC‐based quantitative analysis combined with multivariate chemometric methods differentiated seven Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium cultivars based on significant variations in nine flavonoids. Chemometric analysis effectively separated the seven cultivars, and hesperetin was identified as a unique marker for C. reticulata “Chachi”.
