Age-related changes in benzylamine oxidase activity in rat tissues

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1984
AbstractBrain, liver, heart, lung, kidney and duodenum benzylamine oxidase (BZAO) activities were measured from young and old rats. Protein content was found to decrease in liver (-17%), kidney (-20%) and duodenum (-17%) but remained unchanged in brain, heart and lung of old rats compared with that of young rats.

Fluorescent Probes for Analysis and Imaging of Monoamine Oxidase Activity [PDF]

open access: yes
Monoamine oxidases catalyze the oxidative deamination of dietary amines and amine neurotransmitters, and assist in maintaining the homeostasis of the amine neurotransmitters in the brain.

Role of the Extracellular Matrix in Cancer: Insights into Tumor Progression and Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2025.
The extracellular matrix (ECM) is pivotal in cancer progression, influencing tumor growth, metastasis, and therapy resistance. This paper explores ECM remodeling, highlighting components like collagens and proteoglycans, their impact on immune evasion, and emerging therapies targeting ECM mechanics and composition.

Quantum Transition State Theory for proton transfer reactions in enzymes

open access: yes, 2009
We consider the role of quantum effects in the transfer of hyrogen-like species in enzyme-catalysed reactions. This study is stimulated by claims that the observed magnitude and temperature dependence of kinetic isotope effects imply that quantum ...

Recent Advances and Perspectives on Coupled Water Electrolysis for Energy‐Saving Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 7, February 17, 2025.
Replacing oxygen evolution reaction (OER) with thermodynamically favorable small molecules oxidation reactions to construct coupled water electrolysis systems has been extensively investigated in the last decade. This review focuses on the fundamental principle and development of coupled system, the electrocatalysts design, and proposed mechanism for ...
