Rhodium-Catalyzed C–H/C–H Cross Coupling of Benzylthioethers or Benzylamines with Thiophenes Enabled by Flexible Directing Groups

open access: yes, 2019
Reported herein is an efficient synthetic protocol to ortho-functionalized 2-aryl thiophenes via Rh(III)-catalyzed C–H/C–H cross coupling of benzylthioethers or benzylamines with thiophenes.

On‐DNA Nitro Reduction for Use in DNA‐Encoded Library Synthesis: Methods, Applications, and Challenges

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
Reducing aryl nitro groups provides DNA‐linked anilines for use in benzimidazole synthesis and other scaffold‐forming reactions during the construction of DNA‐encoded libraries. This review examines transfer hydrogenation and Fe(II)‐, dithionite/viologen‐, diboron‐, and Pd‐based methods, focusing on how reaction efficiency, chemoselectivity, DNA ...

Exploring the Neuropharmacological Potential of Ligustrum sinense Relevant to Parkinson's Disease: In Vivo and In Silico Study

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 10, October 2026.
Ligustrum sinense (L. sinense) leaf extract exhibited moderate antioxidant activity (DPPH IC50 = 73.56 ± 2.18 µg/mL) and was evaluated for neuropharmacological effects at 200 and 400 mg/kg using elevated plus maze, open‐field, hole‐cross, and hole‐board tests.

Highly Chemoselective Pd−C Catalytic Hydrodechlorination Leading to the Highly Efficient N-Debenzylation of Benzylamines

open access: yes, 2016
In the presence of 1,1,2-trichloroethane, a novel procedure for the Pd−C catalytic N-debenzylation of benzylamines was established. The method proceeded in a synergistic catalytic system and directly gave the products as crystal amine hydrochlorides in ...

Catechols, Catecholamines, and Hydroxylated Naphthalene Derivatives as Building Blocks for the Electrochemical Deposition of Thin Films: Mechanisms and Properties

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 19, 1 October 2026.
This review describes cyclic voltammetry or chronamperometry of phenol derivatives, catecholamines, and hydroxylated naphthalenes on electrodes. Under strong oxidative conditions the solutes are mineralized, but in the electrochemical stability window of the solvent, the electrode undergoes passivation or deposition of porous (eventually conductive ...

Influence of the organic linker substituent on the catalytic activity of MIL-101(Cr) for the oxidative coupling of benzylamines to imines

open access: yes
MIL-101(Cr) having substituents at the terephthalate linker (X = H, NO2, SO3H, Cl, CH3 and NH2) promotes the aerobic oxidation of benzylamines to the corresponding N-benzylidene benzylamines at different rates.

Ultrasonic‐Swing Carbon Dioxide Release Using Aralkylamines for Direct Air Capture

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2026.
Aralkylamines undergo CO2 absorption from air to form solid amine–CO2 complexes, followed by CO2 release under ultrasonic irradiation in EtOH at low temperature. These results demonstrate the potential of aralkylamine‐based sorbents for repeated CO2 capture and release under DAC conditions.

Generation of bis-Acyl Ketals from Esters and Benzyl Amines Under Oxidative Conditions

open access: yes, 2015
Treatment of benzylamines with esters at an elevated temperature are expected to give amides. However, in the presence of TBAI/TBHP, esters possessing a methylene carbon α-to oxygen with benzylamines provide bis-esters rather than the expected ...

Direct Conversion of Aryl Iodides Into Benzylamines by Aminomethylation: Reaction Scope, Mechanistic Studies, and Applications

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 37, 1 October 2026.
This study presents an efficient aminomethylation of aryl iodides with formamides for the synthesis of benzylamines using a reusable palladium catalyst at a loading of 65 mol ppm. The substrate scope is systematically evaluated, and mechanistic investigations provide insight into the reaction pathway and the origin of the observed catalytic efficiency.
