Strain differences in deconjugation of bile acids in Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum isolates [PDF]
The survival and growth rate of twenty eight isolates of bifidobacteria in bile were evaluated. Of 28 isolates, 25 were tolerance towards 2.0% concentration of bile while 14 isolates were tolerance towards 4.0% of bile after 12 hours of exposure.

Colon‐Targeted Natural Polysaccharide‐Berberine Armored Hydrogel for the Treatment of Colitis
In this research, a novel hydrogel system targeting the colon is developed, incorporating Rhubarb polysaccharides and berberine‐loaded dendrimer. This hydrogel, forms through intermolecular hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions, accumulates in colonic tissues, effectively alleviating pathological immune hyperactivation while modulating gut ...

Bile Acids: Major Regulator of the Gut Microbiome
Bile acids are synthesized from cholesterol and play an important role in regulating intestinal microflora. The different degrees of hydrophobicity and acidity of individual bile acids may affect their antimicrobial properties.

A novel hydrogen bond re‐orientation (HyBRO) strategy enables three‐dimensional (3D) printing of vascular microchannel networks with high accuracy. By switching sacrificial material interactions with nonsolvents, HyBRO prevents swelling and deformation, enabling accurate hierarchical channels spanning a tenfold size range.

A Randomized, Controlled, Phase 2 Study of Maralixibat in the Treatment of Itching Associated With Primary Biliary Cholangitis. [PDF]
Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is typically associated with elevated serum bile acid levels and pruritus, but pruritus is often refractory to treatment with existing therapies.
