A 7‐mm Covered TIPS Reduces Hepatic Encephalopathy Without Increasing Rebleeding in Cirrhotic Patients With Small Liver: A Randomized Study

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background/Aims International guidelines recommend initiating transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) placement with an 8‐mm stent. However, there is an evident lack of randomized controlled trials evaluating TIPS diameters < 8 mm in cirrhotic patients with a relatively small liver. The aim of this study was to determine whether 7

Dimethyl Fumarate‐Associated Acute Hepatocellular Injury Assessed for Causality Using the Updated RUCAM: A Biopsy‐Supported Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Dimethyl fumarate may rarely cause severe hepatocellular injury. In a 26‐year‐old woman, liver enzymes rose soon after treatment initiation, and biopsy supported DILI. Updated RUCAM assessment yielded 6, indicating probable causality, supported by dechallenge.

Imaging Pitfalls in Evaluating Liver Metastases in Breast Cancer With Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease‐Associated Polycystic Liver: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Extensive hepatic cysts in ADPKD, together with a diffuse infiltrative liver metastatic pattern, can lead to radiological underestimation of hepatic tumor burden on conventional whole‐body imaging. Persistent biomarker–imaging discordance should prompt reassessment of disease progression at known sites and involvement of other organs, with ...
