Neonatal Sevoflurane Exposure Induces Long‐Term Cognitive Impairment via Epigenetically Mediated MMP9 Activation and Perineuronal Net Disruption in the Hippocampal CA2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hippocampal CA2 perineuronal nets ensheathing excitatory pyramidal neurons are selectively vulnerable to repeated neonatal sevoflurane exposure. Epigenetic upregulation of MMP9 via reduced H3K27me3 disrupts PNN integrity, impairs BDNF–TrkB signaling, and causes synaptic protein loss and dendritic spine deficits, leading to persistent social and spatial

Acoustically Activatable Drug‐Loaded Nanodroplets for Mechanochemical Therapy in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microfluidically fabricated drug‐loaded nanodroplets are sequentially activated by dual‐frequency ultrasound through acoustic droplet vaporization followed by bubble collapse, enabling spatially controlled drug release and mechanical tumor fractionation, resulting in synergistic mechanochemotherapy and prolonged survival.

Magnetoreceptor Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Development and Blunts Sorafenib‐Induced Ferroptosis by Regulating Iron Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetoreceptor (MagR) regulates iron homeostasis and mitochondrial function in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. Specifically, MagR deficiency suppresses tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion and enhances sorafenib‐induced ferroptosis through iron accumulation.

In Situ Photo‑Crosslinked Functional Bilayer Hydrogel Modulates Local Microenvironment and Remyelination After Optic Nerve Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A blue‐light‐crosslinked bilayer hydrogel was developed for local optic nerve repair. The adhesive GM‐Odex outer layer seals and anchors the lesion, while the non‐adhesive GM‐imid inner layer releases MPDA‐Cle without obstructing CSF flow. This system modulates oxidative and inflammatory microenvironments, supports oligodendrocyte differentiation and ...

Sonogenetic Control of Engineered Probiotics for the Treatment of MASH by Modulating the Gut‐Liver Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers developed an engineered probiotic encapsulated in an inulin hydrogel, enabling ultrasound‐triggered intestinal delivery of IL‐22. In MASH model mice, this system remodeled gut microbiota, strengthened the intestinal barrier and reduced portal LPS and hepatic IL‐6.

Flavonoid Bioavailability and Attempts for Bioavailability Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yesNutrients, 2013
Flavonoids are a group of phytochemicals that have shown numerous health effects and have therefore been studied extensively. Of the six common food flavonoid classes, flavonols are distributed ubiquitously among different plant foods whereas appreciable amounts of isoflavones are found in leguminous plant-based foods.

Plant based Bioavailability Enhancers

Current Pharmaceutical Design, 2022
Abstract: Many of the synthetic and herbal drugs, despite their notable in vitro findings, demonstrate insignificant in vivo activity, the majority of the time due to poor bioavailability. As per Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS), one of the main concerns is low solubility and/or permeation of drugs resulting in reduced absorption and poor

Piperine phytosomes for bioavailability enhancement of domperidone

Journal of Liposome Research, 2021
The markedly low oral bioavailability of domperidone (anti-emetic drug) is associated with rapid first-pass metabolism in the intestine and liver. To counteract such affects, there is a need to devise a strategy to enhance absorption and subsequently bioavailability.

Enhancement of Bioavailability by Surfactants

1995
Bioavailability of apolar pollutants is investigated quantitatively using a theoretical and an experimental approach. Theoretical analysis suggests that enhancement of bioavailability can be achieved by an increase of the mass transfer rate. Some possibilities are given.

Enhancement of hydralazine bioavailability by food

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1977
The influence of food on the bioavailability of hydralazine in noncoated and coated tablets was examined in 5 healthy males. Each subject received an oral 50‐mg dose on four different occasions: two 25‐mg noncoated tablets with and without food and one 50‐mg coated tablet with and without food.
