Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1473-1493, June 2026.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

An In Silico Model to Simulate the Evolution of Biological Aging

open access: yes, 2016
Biological aging is characterized by an age-dependent increase in the probability of death and by a decrease in the reproductive capacity. Individual age-dependent rates of survival and reproduction have a strong impact on population dynamics, and the ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

The Influence of Maternal Inflammatory Status on Fetal Telomere Length at Birth

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background/Objectives: Fetal telomere length (FTL) at birth is considered a key marker of early biological aging and future disease risk. While chronic inflammation is known to accelerate telomere attrition in adults, limited evidence exists on how ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1643-1660, June 2026.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Association of Higher Dietary Omega‐3 Fatty Acid Intake With Cardiovascular‐Kidney‐Metabolic Syndrome Stage Severity and Mortality in US Adults: A Cross‐Sectional and Prospective Cohort Analysis of NHANES 1999 to 2018

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Cardiovascular‐kidney‐metabolic (CKM) syndrome interlinks obesity, diabetes, kidney disease, and cardiovascular dysfunction. Omega‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFAs) possess anti‐inflammatory and metabolic properties potentially ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
