Synthetic Nanobiology Actuated Lipometabolic Cell Factory for Autologous Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
FA plays a crucial role in the interaction between tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment, especially for the immune response. A biocatalytic immunoenhancement strategy is developed to boost antitumor immunity by FA metabolic orientation to ceramide. Through the design of this delicate catalytic immunoenhancement strategy, the synthetic nanobiology

RNA‐Micelles as Self‐Assembling Structures for Efficient Co‐Delivery of Synergistic siRNA and Nucleoside Analogues to Treat CRC Lung Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two kinds of self‐assembled RNA micelles were used to co‐deliver synergistic siRNA and nucleoside analogues for the treatment of colorectal cancer lung metastases. Near‐complete elimination of lung cancer metastases was confirmed in an orthotopic lung metastasis model constructed using human colorectal cancer lung metastases patient surgical samples to

Dinoflagellate bioluminescence in response to mechanical stimuli in water flows [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2005
Bioluminescence of plankton organisms induced by water movements has long been observed and is still under investigations because of its great complexity.

MPI‐Guided Photothermal Therapy of Prostate Cancer Using Stem Cell Delivery of Magnetotheranostic Nanoflowers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tumor‐tropic human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) were used as delivery vehicles for magnetotheranostic gold–iron oxide nanoflowers. Magnetic particle imaging of the iron component demonstrated widespread intratumoral distribution and sustained retention in contrast to injection of naked nanoflowers.

Effects of predator lipids on dinoflagellate defence mechanisms - increased bioluminescence capacity

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Short flashes of blue light (bioluminescence) from dinoflagellates can reduce copepod grazing of light-emitting cells. Other protective strategies against grazing are toxicity, reduced cell chain length and altered swimming patterns in different ...

Adaptation of a Bacterial Bioluminescent Assay to Monitor Bioeffects of Gold Nanoparticles

open access: yesBioengineering, 2022
Our current study aimed to adapt a bioluminescent bacteria-based bioassay to monitor the bioeffects of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Luminous marine bacteria Photobacterium phosphoreum and AuNPs modified with polyvinylpyrrolidone were employed; low ...

Concurrent MEK targeted therapy prevents MAPK pathway reactivation during BRAFV600E targeted inhibition in a novel syngeneic murine glioma model. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Inhibitors of BRAFV600E kinase are currently under investigations in preclinical and clinical studies involving BRAFV600E glioma. Studies demonstrated clinical response to such individualized therapy in the majority of patients whereas in some patients ...

Cold Quad‐Modal Nanocomplex for Precise and Quantitative In Vivo Stem Cell Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal albumin–bismuth sulfide–superparamagnetic iron oxide (ABS) nanocomplexes are developed for stem cell tracking across four different imaging modalities: MRI, MPI, MSOT, and CT. Combining its flexibility with high sensitivity, this quad‐modal imaging agent enables a robust quantification of ABS‐labeled stem cells in vivo.

Similarities and Differences in Quorum Sensing-Controlled Bioluminescence between Photobacterium phosphoreum T3 and Vibrio qinghaiensis sp.-Q67

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Quorum sensing is a density-dependent mechanism using chemical signal molecules termed autoinducers to regulate diverse biological processes in bacteria, including bioluminescence. However, the correlation between growth and light emission of two typical
