Solid-state interactions of calixarenes with biorelevant molecules
Chemical Communications, 2009Among all crystalline complexes of calix-type calix[n]arenes those with organic molecules which are biologically relevant are especially of interest due to their potential medical and pharmaceutical applications. The co-crystallization of drugs with water-soluble calixarenes offers the opportunity to modify chemical and physical properties of APIs ...

A biorelevant dissolution stress test device – background and experiences
Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2010The prediction of the in vivo drug release characteristics of modified release (MR) oral dosage forms by in vitro dissolution tests is a prerequisite for successful product development. To improve the predictive power of dissolution testing, the authors recently developed a new dissolution test apparatus that simulates physical conditions of the ...

Biorelevant Phosphonic Acids - Protonation and Complexformation Equilibria
Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 1996Abstract Various methods of NMR- and PC-controlled titrations were developed in our laboratories. In addition to the by now well-investigated 31P- we applied 13C-, 1H-, 19F- and 113Cd-NMR controlled titrations. Here we report about the methodical progress and results obtained from acylphophonic acids and corresponding hydroxyimino derivatives - as ...

Photoinduced Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfers in Biorelevant Phenolic Systems
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2011AbstractProton‐coupled electron transfer (PCET) reactions have received much attention over the past 10 years, from an experimental as well as from a theoretical point of view. At the heart of many chemical and biological processes, such reactions are of particular interest in energy conversion and enzymatic processes.

BIORELEVANT TRIAZOLE MOLECULES AND THEIR APPLICATION
2023In this chapter, we have focused on the biorelevant triazole compounds and their use in medicine. New effective and secure pharmacological agents are needed to combat the global rise of bacterial antibiotic resistance. The structural motif of the aromatic N-heteroarene-containing triazole rings and their biological activity is multifaceted.

Geometrical and Structural Dynamics of Imatinib within Biorelevant Colloids
Molecular Pharmaceutics, 2018Solubilization of lipophilic drugs is essential for efficient uptake. We detail the solubilization of imatinib in simulated gastrointestinal fluids containing taurocholate (TC) and lecithin (L) and reflecting fasted versus fed states using NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic light scattering analysis ...

Biorelevant reactions of the potential anti-tumor agent vanadocene dichloride
Metallomics, 2016The interaction of the potential anti-tumor agent vanadocene dichloride ([Cp2VCl2] or VDC) with some relevant bioligands of the cytosol such as proteins (Hb), amino acids (glycine and histidine), NADH derivatives (NADH, NADPH, NAD(+) and NADP(+)), reductants (GSH and ascorbic acid), phosphates (HPO4(2-), P2O7(4-), cAMP, AMP, ADP and ATP) and ...

Biorelevant Metals in Sustainable Metal Catalysis—A Survey
ChemCatChem, 2013AbstractA growing world population and increasing energy demands are without a doubt the most important challenges for mankind within this century. Catalysis is a key technology in various fields of chemistry and offers the potential to increase the material output of chemical synthesis without an unreasonable increase in the energy necessary for the ...

An investigation of the disintegration of tablets in biorelevant media
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2005The purpose of the study was to examine the disintegration of tablets in media designed to simulate conditions pertaining in the stomach. Although many studies have been performed to determine dissolution rates in these media, little work has been undertaken on the preliminary step in dissolution, namely disintegration.

Enhanced stability of polyacrylate-coated magnetite nanoparticles in biorelevant media
Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2012Magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) were prepared by alkaline hydrolysis of Fe(II) and Fe(III) chlorides. Adsorption of polyacrylic acid (PAA) on MNPs was measured at pH=6.5±0.3 and I=0.01 M (NaCl) to find the optimal PAA amount for MNP stabilization under physiological conditions.
