The occurrence of bisphenol compounds in animal feed plastic packaging and migration into feed

Chemosphere, 2021
Animal-derived food plays an important role in human exposure to bisphenol compounds (BPs), potentially as a result of the presence of BPs in animal feed. Even so, there have been few studies regarding the source of BPs in animal feed. The objective of the present study was to assess both the occurrence of BPs in animal feed packaging and the migration

Environmental and occupational exposure to bisphenol compounds in Finland

Toxicology Letters
The aim of the study was to assess non-occupational and occupational exposure to bisphenol compounds in Finland. The participants were 151 non-occupationally exposed volunteers and 15 potentially exposed employees of a sewage-pipe relining company and a floor-coating company. The following chemicals were measured in the urine samples: bisphenol A (BPA),

Electrochemical Detection and Determination of Various Bisphenol Compounds

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2019
Bisphenol compounds are well known compounds which are used to strengthen various plastic based materials. BP based plastic materials consumption (or) usage will result in type-II diabetes in the human being. This is because BP compounds are known as endocrine disruptors which will directly affect human metabolism.

Study of the Separation of Dianin's Compound Formed in the Bisphenol-A Synthesis

Journal of inclusion phenomena and macrocyclic chemistry, 2000
A method of separating Dianin'scompound from a complex mixture of by-productsobtained from the bisphenol-A industrial processis described using compounds which formcrystalline clathrate structures with Dianin'scompound. Under the conditions used the clathratestructure obtained could be crystallized with highpurity (above 99.5%).

Oxidation of bisphenols. II. Some compounds related to galvinoxyl

Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1980
The oxidation of a series of 4,4'-alkylidenebis(2,6-di-t-butylphenols) having increasing substitution of the central methylene carbon by alkyl groups is examined. In the monosubstituted compounds the stability of the monophenoxy radical increases with increase in the size of the substituent, while the stability of the galvinoxyl type radical decreases.

Genotoxic potentials and related mechanisms of bisphenol A and other bisphenol compounds: A comparison study employing chicken DT40 cells

Chemosphere, 2013
Bisphenol A (BPA) has been found in plastic food containers, paper currencies and toys. BPA has been reported for various adverse health concerns including reproduction, development and carcinogenesis. These potential health implications have led to increasing use of alternative bisphenols such as bisphenol F and bisphenol S among many. However, little

Novel Pathway of Metabolic Activation of Bisphenol A-Related Compounds for Estrogenic Activity

Drug Metabolism and Disposition, 2011
We previously demonstrated that estrogenic activity of bisphenol A (BPA) in the yeast estrogen screening assay was increased severalfold after incubation with rat liver S9 fraction in the presence of a NADPH-generating system. In this study, we investigated whether eight BPA-related compounds are similarly activated metabolically by rat liver S9 ...

Biological and enzymatic treatment of bisphenol A and other endocrine disrupting compounds: a review

Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, 2012
Bisphenol A is predominantly used as an intermediate in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Traces of bisphenol A released into the environment can reach into the wastewater and soil via application of sewage sludge from wastewater treatment systems that receive water containing bisphenol A, or from leachate from uncontrolled ...

Mechanistic investigations of low dose exposures to the genotoxic compounds bisphenol-A and rotenone

Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis, 2008
A complete hazard and risk assessment of any known genotoxin requires the evaluation of the mutagenic, clastogenic and aneugenic potential of the compound. In the case of aneugenic chemicals, mechanism of action (MOA) and quantitative responses may be investigated by studying their effects upon the fidelity of functioning of components of the cell ...

Strategy for enhanced selective adsorption of bisphenol compounds in food samples

Food Research International
The issue of selectivity in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for molecular recognition poses significant challenges. Here, a strategy for designing a flexible ionic bromide magnetic covalent organic framework (iMCOF@Br-) combined with a magnetic rotor was first proposed and applied to magnetic rotor solid-phase microextraction of bisphenol compounds ...
